🌏 A milestone moment for Vets Beyond Borders
In April 2026, we’ll be deploying our first-ever veterinary team to Papua New Guinea — expanding our work across the Pacific to reach communities with limited access to animal care.
We’re especially proud to share that vet nurse Helen Spry will be part of this team — embarking on her 12th VetMatch deployment and recently named the inaugural recipient of the Buddy Giving Program Volunteer Excellence Award 🏆
From the Cook Islands to Vanuatu, Fiji to Nauru, Helen has dedicated years to improving animal welfare in some of the region’s most challenging environments — and now PNG is next.

In PNG, Helen and the team will work alongside RSPCA of PNG, delivering vital veterinary care, training, and community education.
🐾 Why this matters
In many communities, limited access to veterinary services means animals face preventable disease, injury, and overpopulation. Programs like VetMatch focus on desexing, treatment, and education — creating lasting change for both animals and people.
This deployment has been made possible through the Buddy Giving Program. The program is supported by Buddy Pet Insurance and helps us reach more communities across the Asia-Pacific.
