Hi everyone, sorry we have been abit quiet on here! We are still taking on horses, this year has just been more about soaking in time with them.

Tickets For Youth (Bobby) has been busy out competing having done the trip to Sydney for Equimillion where he managed to come away 10th overall in a competitive 90cm class and just this weekend competed at the Pony Club NSW State Jumping Equitation and Showjumping Championships where he jumped 7 perfect rounds managing to secure State Reserve Champion Associate 90cm Equitation and State Champion Associate B Grade Showjumping.

Unfortunately though in the last 3 weeks we have sadly laid to rest two of our beautiful Woolandoon horses, Kateru (Tommy) and Derby Star (Derby). We have taken some time to reflect on the beautiful memories they gave us in the time that we shared together and know that they would want us to keep doing what we love.

So in saying that over the weekend we welcomed our new boy Dalgarno (Louis Vuitton). Louis came from the Bryan Dixon racing stables at Gilgandra and is already proving to be such a trainable boy. While we were a little shocked to find he was actually 17.1hh instead of the 16.1hh we were picking up we are so excited to start working with him and see what he will turn into. Keep an eye out for this big boy, we are hoping to have him ready for the 2026 show circuit.

Happy horse birthday to all the amazing horses out there! I’ll save everyone the drama of sharing the 100s of pictures of horses I’ve had over the years! 😂

Here’s a very late post from our latest event. 🐎

On the 19th/20th July, Bob and Tom made the trip to Warialda to compete in their second round of the zone 8 showjumping competition.

Unfortunately big Tom was not feeling like himself and so we made the decision to save him for another day. With Tom out of the competition we decided to bring Miss Cleo out for a turn.

Bob was his usual casual self while Cleo really impressed me with her attitude in a busy environment. They both went on to win in their respective heights and came away with champion rugs.

A great weekend out at Bingara Pony Club Zone SJ championships.
Bobby and Tom were the ring ins for this round and needless to say they had their best hooves forward all weekend.

Bob was his reliable self and came away with champion B Grade associate jumping some really beautiful rounds while big Tommy managed to snag himself champion D Grade associate and after having a non-competitive round at C was upgraded! 🤩
A few rider rails for Tom but feeling super confident with how quickly he is learning to save my butt in tricky situations! Very proud of both boys. A rest day tomorrow and then back in to prep for Warialda next weekend!

A bit of a comparison from Bobs first ODE in Tamworth July 2023 to this year 2/3/4th May representing Zone 8 PC at the State ODE and CT in Quirindi. A much happier, healthier horse thanks to Jenquine and Abbey Animal Health products. 🫶🏽🐎

My boy Tom 🥹
Couldn’t be more proud of this big gentle giant handling his 1st ODE and XC like an absolute champ at Quirindi eventing on the weekend. Although the results don’t show on paper, we conquered so many firsts and i am so excited for his future. A great weekend getting to catch up with Hollie K Barry-Parker and Archie and a surprise visit from Tommy’s old owner Krissie and the kids to watch us go around on XC on Sunday, we are so thankful for the support and encouragement! And of a course a Thankyou to my mum Melissa Perrin for hardly ever saying no when I show her another horse and suggest we bring it home. This big boy has a bright future ahead of him. 🐎❤️

We’ve had a busy few weeks here getting horses fit and ready for the start of our competition season. Off to Bingara show this weekend with a team of 3, Tickets For Youth (Bobby), Yuruga Lass (Cleo) and Kateru (Tommy).

We also welcomed this beautiful new girl to the team yesterday. Creedy Cat aka Willow has already proved to be beautiful and soft and at only 4 yrs old she has a very exciting future in any discipline. - Watch this space!

Chocolate coloured ponies are my fav 🫣left to right: Kateru (Tommy), Yuruga Lass (Cleo), and Tickets For Youth (Bobby). Time to get cracking for the 2025 show season/eventing season.

SURPRISE!!

Welcome to the Woolandoon team, Kateru AKA Tommy. I told myself no more tall horses, BUT, here we are with this big boy measuring at roughly 17hh 🫣. I cannot thank his trainer Krissie Simpkins enough for AGAIN trusting me to take on one of your babies. Can’t wait to see what he has to offer 😍

‼️SOLD‼️

Full Of Flavour (Barney)
FALVELON x MARMILLION
Barney is a 16hh, 8yr old brown gelding. Retired sound OTT in Jan 2024. In this time Barney has competed at SJ, ODE, and sporting day outings and has done a week PC taking everything in his stride. Barney is Sj up to 1m, competing EvA 80cm and schooling up to 95.

In the right hands I believe Barney will go far with his look at me presence. Dressage is by far his weak point as he has such big movement and struggles to navigate the arena, however he is improving all the time and working out where his legs go. He is a lovely quiet boy with his only vice being that at times he can be girthy. This is a learned behaviour from racing, a simple rouse and he is fine.

Barney does have a small scar on his front near side leg from Tin/wire which he had when I got him, this has healed well and hasn’t caused him any problems. Barney has 3 lovely paces and a super soft snaffle mouth. A very easy doer, currently barefoot. Good to C/W/S/F and clip. Has been ridden by novice riders.

While Barney is lovely and quiet he is still learning therefore not suited to beginners. Sad sale of a genuinely lovely horse, however it is time that he finds his next best friend. Located Inverell, NSW. Looking for $5k

‼️VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED‼️
12 months.
12 months since all my hopes and dreams came crashing to an instant halt. Not even a week before I was swooning over the fact that Derby who is my dream horse had mastered his canter lead both ways and was already practicing novice dressage moves. To have a horse already working at this level with so little off the track education is truly something special.

12 months today I got the news I didn’t want to hear. “Your horse is on the wrong side of the fence and is bleeding”. When I first saw the injuries I wasn’t sure of the extent of them. A vet visit later determined the cut was down to the bone and the chance of proud flesh and infection developing was at 100% due to the heat. A full leg bandage for a month with everyday changes and 2 lots of proud flesh removed.

Now 12 months on Derby’s leg is fully healed but the road is not clear. It’s being a long 12 months of blood, sweat, tears and frustrations as we take one step forward and 2 steps back in his injury recovery and rehabilitation. Due to the result of the injury he has unfortunately developed a hitch. Consults with vets think with time it should disappear as he gets used to using and strengthening the leg again.

Our future is still full of what ifs, but for now he is a happy, healthy boy and that’s all that matters. Here’s hoping we can kick things in the butt and see improved results and hopefully get back to where we were pre injury in 2025.
