Thank you Casterton Polocrosse Club!
And here is the Weekend Wrap up for Naracoorte Polocrosse Clubโฆ
Having Davey back with the crew certainly added a bit of extra energy to the weekend. He always brings a great sense of camaraderie that lifts the whole team, and it was lovely to have that spirit around again.
๐ Ncte 1 competed in a strong C Grade competition, finishing with two wins and two losses. Justin rode his young horse and worked hard to get involved in the play, while Hayley was back in the saddle on Samโs reliable Dennis, picking up loose balls around the arena. Davey kept things lively up front, Ava worked hard on goal, and Pete and Brodie did a fantastic job blocking, guiding and delivering some great passes throughout the day. Although we just missed out on making the finals, Davey and Snorkle were recognised with Best Horse in C Grade, which was a wonderful achievement.
๐ Ncte 2 formed the third team in the D Grade, which meant we played two games for the day. While the results didnโt go our way, the effort from everyone was outstanding. Sam worked hard delivering passes into Keely on her young thoroughbred, despite some very strong defence. Isaac Brown stepped in at 3 and gave it his all for the team, while Macca held strong in defence, creating turnovers and sending some excellent passes forward. Michelle and Arnie worked well together well up front, and Jennaโs practice at home showed with her strong ball work and ability to pick up loose balls and create space.
It was also great to have Kym-Marie Berkin back on the sidelines helping out again.
๐ A special mention goes to Hannah Schultz, who played in the U14 competition on Minnie. She gave it everything out there and was wonderful to watch, showing great determination all day despite some tough ground conditions. The Casterton field needed some work during the day after a section became difficult to play on, which made things challenging for the younger players as they adjusted between ends. Hannah had her dadโs determination on the field and made us all very proud.
It was also fantastic seeing so many young players out there riding such talented horses. They really are remarkable animals and do an incredible job looking after their riders. ๐ด
A big thank you to Darren (Daz) and Marc (Dup) for goal waving throughout the games, and to Kym-Marie Berkin for helping with timekeeping and scoring as well. Thanks to Michelle Dupree for the write up of the weekend events.
All in all it was a weekend full of effort, learning, and plenty of positive moments. Looking forward to State Champs in YP. Polocrosse SA Yorke Peninsula Polocrosse Club
