TRUE Mixed Animal Veterinarian position available!
We are a truly mixed animal practice looking for a new member (or two) to join the team. Open to a new graduate or experienced Veterinarian(s) with well above award remuneration according to experience level.
The Top End of Australia is well known for its great weather and outdoor lifestyle. Imagine a four-day work week followed by three days off spent camping, fishing or exploring the pristine swimming holes in the nearby National Parks. A stunning beach sunset, accompanied by your favourite food from the local markets, is also a perfect way to cap the day.
We are structured as a 3 Vet clinic, with lots of room for growth. The tight-knit team is well supported by extremely competent nursing staff, available 24/7 with on call assistance. We see a wide variety of cases from small animals (70%), equine work (30%) as well as goats, cows, camels, crocodiles, wallabies or birds to spice up the day. Our clientele makes the most of our services and facilities, brining in all animals great and small, to allow us to provide the best services possible.
We have a FULLY AIRCONDITIONED, new-built Equine and Small Animal Hospitals, complete with:
- State of the art small animal radiology, surgery, dental and medical facilities regularly providing orthopaedic services including TPLOs, fracture repairs, hemilaminectomy and other referrals;
- SmartFlow and Rx Works technology, with charting performed instantly on iPads for hospital and anaesthesia monitoring
- Endoscopic (URT), laparoscopy, otoscopy, bronchoscopy, arthroscopy, cystoscopy, gastroscopy services for large and small animals in both a standing and knockdown capacity;
- Electrocautery and suction equipment including Ligasure, monopolar and bipolar options for routine and complex soft tissue surgeries;
- In-house CT (yes, we have our own CT!), ultrasound (in-house and portable), and radiographic equipment (small animal and portable large animal) with VetCT support;
- In-house IDEXX ProCyte and Catalyst bloodwork machines, fibrinogen, SAA, microscopy, blood gas, urinalysis, ionised calcium, apTT/PT Coag testing, etc.;
- Large and small animal dental equipment for both routine management, standing tooth removal, knockdown and endoscopic evaluation including a SA iM3 Elite dental machine and large animal portable crush;
- New Equine surgical facility with knockdown, inhalant anaesthesia, multiple standing surgery crushes, internationally anaesthesia trained veterinarian and regular visits from a travelling specialist Surgeon. (We fondly refer to this new facility as “The Horsepital”!!);
- Day yards, paddocks and camera-supervised (to your phone) hospitalisation stalls with custom-made neonatal care and isolation sections;
- Reproduction services provided include fresh / frozen AI, ET, elective c-sections, dystocia management, post-foaling exams, pregnant mare management;
- 4-day work week and 1in3 on call rota with 100% rostered nurse support
- Work car, short term live-in facilities on site and on call phone provided. For those a bit more adventurous, there is also a light plane available for station / travelling work across the NT!
- Childcare facilities present immediately next door to the clinic
In return, we offer high quality veterinary services for management of all issues large and small. There is a strong focus on continuing education, with both our Vet’s having attended international conferences in the last 12 months.
