We will be holding a Phoenix Feline Meet at Your Family Vet on Tuesday 10 November from 5:30 - 7:30.

This event will allow community to come and meet some of our kittens, teenagers and Adult cats and see if any are a match for your home.

Adoptions will not happen on the night but there will be expression of interest forms so we can follow up with interested people the following days.
A good home match is essential for us, hence no instant adoptions.

Found a baby bird? Please leave it where it is! 🐣

As the weather warms up, we’re seeing more hatchlings and fledglings out and about. While it can be tempting to scoop them up and bring them into the clinic, the best thing you can often do is leave them where they are!

🐣 Hatchlings are very young birds, usually with little or no feathers. They belong in the nest, so if you find one on the ground, check whether you can safely return it to its nest. If the nest is unreachable or damaged, seek advice from Wildlife Victoria.

🐦 Fledglings are young birds that have grown feathers and are learning to fly. It’s completely normal for them to spend time on the ground while developing their flying skills. Their parents are usually nearby, continuing to feed and care for them, even if you can’t see them!

So, what should you do if you find a baby bird?
🌿 Observe from a distance to see if the parents are nearby.
🌿 Keep pets and people away from the bird.
🌿 If it’s a fledgling and safe from immediate danger, leave it where it is.
🌿 If it’s injured, in immediate danger, or you’re unsure what to do, contact Wildlife Victoria for advice.

🚫 Please don’t automatically bring healthy baby birds into the clinic. Unnecessary handling and removal from their parents can cause stress and reduce their chances of survival.

If you have an upcoming appointment, we kindly ask that you allow a few extra minutes for your journey. Access routes and parking availability may vary, so you may not always be able to park directly in front of or alongside the clinic as usual.🚗
