Most of you know I’ve been rescuing since I was around 11 years old, any animal I saw needed help I would scoop up right away!

Petrie was advertised on gumtree for $180, advertised at only 4-5 weeks of age. Ferrets can be adopted at 10-12 weeks minimum. I saw this and knew he would most likely go to an inexperienced owner, who didn’t understand he was being sold too young. All because of the novelty of owning a ferret would be “fun”.

I only had enough money at the time to adopt him, not challenging the sellers and just doing what I could at the time to take him to a better home. With his rough start to life I had to hand feed him for 5 or so weeks until he gained more independence, from the get go he bonded to me so quickly.

He developed adrenal disease at around 2 years old, which I hadn’t realised came with many complications. And we are so lucky he had survived for as long as he did with a great diet, routine, minimal stress and exercise.

He escaped his play pen once and ran an acre back home to the back door, being a ferret he could’ve easily just decided to run away. But nope! Petrie knew where home was and it was where he found comfort.

He smothered us all with love and kisses, and was particularly bonded to me as I had raised him since he was a vulnerable little bub.

His health took a turn today, I had to do all I could at home and take him to the emergency vet, where I had to make the tough decision to euthanise him.

I have lost 30 + pets due to them passing naturally, or needing to make the decision to euthanise for their welfare and to end their suffering. It never gets any easier.

The price of loving deeply is losing deeply, and the depth of the pain tells you how real the love was. Grief isn’t about species, it’s about attachment. My little Petrie boy was such a unique little guy, who made every single day brighter.

Our fur babies who we cherish as our own really bring such value and fulfilment into our lives, Petrie gave us all so much love and laughter. Which I feel many people who do not have this depth of love for animals will never understand, how each loss doesn’t hit you as one loss but instead multiplies and hits you harder every time you lose another.

Petrie is now up with the rainbows he so fondly use to love looking at, rest in peace my boy. ❤️

Hi everyone! Meet Luna (Staffy x Lab all black) and Pixel (Amstaff I believe, black and white). Due to their living circumstances changing their parents are needing to rehome them. And I’d love to see them go to a home together, as it’s quite urgent we don’t want them having to go to the dogs home.

They both absolutely love walks, but are quite heavy on the lead, love the beach and Pixel who is only 3 years old is the absolutely perfect dog, the only naughty thing he does is chew a shoe from time to time. He loves people, loves animals, get along with chickens and children. He has a quirky little personality, and loves to be around his people.

Luna who is 6 is very much the woman of the house, she’s not as good with kids, and doesn’t enjoy other dogs company as much, she’s good with dogs but some are hit or miss, she’s never gotten aggressive or nipped but some dogs she just is not into however she is good with chickens as well, but it’s best to keep farm animals locked away just in case! But she adores her people, she is top dog out of the both of them and very much puts Pixel in his place (she takes the job of house diva very seriously).

Both of them love to play with their toys in the backyard, lay and watch Tele, go for walks, and just enjoy the company of their people.

I have looked after these two beautiful dogs on and off when their parents would go on holiday for the past 3 or more years. I’d love to see them go somewhere where they’ll be loved, enriched, and well looked after (and hopefully so I can continue looking after them) 🥺 they are extremely patient and don’t mind if you work all day, as long as they get love when you get home, in regard to most animals, these two I consider very low maintenance as they also have each other for company if you’re working longer hours!

Neither of them have any dietary requirements, or health issues. Only Pixel who has some itchy skin but is very typical of his breed and would be an easy fix.

They both love bones, up to date with vaccinations and vet checks etc!

They don’t jump fences even though they could, but haven’t been tested with regular farm fencing. Not too sure how they are with cats, but integrating them into a family wouldn’t be too hard with these two. Both very sensitive little babies that just want love and attention, and in return will give you so much love and companionship!

It would be amazing if we could share this around and secure them a loving home, as they really are the most beautiful dogs I’ve looked after. And it would be amazing to see them go to a home together, as they are very close to each other.

If you’re interested or know anyone that could offer an amazing home please let me know, as it is an urgent matter before they have to possibly go to the dogs home. ❤️

Hi everyone, I am trying to help a friend find a home for a dog she has rescued but can not keep herself.

This is Zeus, not much is known about Zeus apart from the fact he is 1 year old.

Possible pit bull/ mastiff mix

Zeus is a loving sweet boy, who loves cuddles on the couch, kisses and is very gentle with food.

He has been introduced to dogs, and has shown no sign of aggression. But due to his hard start to life he hasn’t been socialised properly, Zeus would need a loving and caring home with room to play and someone who would continue to start some socialisation and training with him.

Zeus was rescued from a cage where he was kept sitting in his own faeces and wee.

He needs a home where most importantly he will be taught that humans can be kind, loving and that he will not be exposed to this kind of cruelty again. He would need a patient owner willing to work with him, being so young he will pick things up fast. With time for him to come out of his shell and be comfortable and trusting. Zeus would be an amazing member of your family.

For a dog that has gone theough such a hard start to life, Zeus has A LOT of love to give.

The person who has helped Zeus would love to keep him, however they have many pets of their own and can not take on the responsibility at this time. They don’t want to surrender Zeus to the dogs home due to his past with being confined to a dirty cage, so I am trying to assist them in other options. Even if it could be a potential foster home until a permanent home is found for him.

Please share this post, and ask around in the community, I would love to see this boy find a loving home.

Hi everyone!

I will be studying a diploma at UTAS commencing mid/ end of July. Depending on my timetable, class schedules etc I may not be able to do as much pet sitting during the day!

If you are in need of pet sitting July onwards I won’t be able to let you know if I can schedule those dates in until I have my timetable for study, if you’re thinking about going on a holiday around this time, and need some assistance in caring for your fur babies please let me know ahead of schedule. This way I can pre plan and see what will work with my timetable when I get it so i am more organised!

I will still be pet sitting over night, but the days may be more full than usual. So feeding/ walks and casual pop ins may be harder to organise. I will let you all know of any changes once i have all the information!
