🐾 PARVO SEASON IS HERE: Is Your Puppy Protected? 🐾
With the warmer weather and recent rain around the Toowoomba region, we see an increase in Canine Parvovirus (Parvo) cases. Parvo is a severe, highly contagious, and potentially fatal viral illness that attacks a dog’s gastrointestinal system—and puppies are most at risk.
The good news? Vaccination is your puppy’s best defense!
💉 When should puppies be vaccinated?
Puppies need a series of core vaccinations to build full immunity as maternal antibodies fade:
* 6–8 weeks: 1st Dose
* 10–12 weeks: 2nd Dose (Booster)
* 14–16 weeks: 3rd & Final Puppy Booster
🚫Important note: Puppies are not fully protected until 1 to 2 weeks after their final 16-week booster. Until then, keep them safe by avoiding public parks, dog parks, and footpaths where unvaccinated dogs may have walked.
⚠️ Watch for these warning signs:
* Severe, bloody, or watery diarrhoea
* Repeated vomiting
* Sudden extreme lethargy or weakness
* Loss of appetite
If your puppy is showing any of these symptoms or due for their next vaccine, don't wait—call us IMMEDIATELY.
🛑🛑Please do not come inside or allow your pet to get out of the car, call us and we will come outside to you 🛑🛑
☎️ Call Plaza Circle Veterinary Surgery on (07) 4630 8633 to book your puppy’s check-up and keep them safe this season!

Did you know we offer "Two-Less Tuesday", discounted desexing on male cats, for $100.00 per cat 🐈‍⬛🐱🐈

The Benefits of Desexing Male Cats 🐾

Deciding to desex your male cat is one of the best choices you can make for his long-term health, happiness, and safety. Beyond preventing unexpected litters, neutering offers several important benefits:
* 🐈‍⬛ Reduced Roaming & Risk of Injury: Intact male cats have a strong natural drive to roam in search of mates. This often leads them to cross busy roads, get into fights with other cats, and expose themselves to serious injuries or infections (such as FIV). Desexed cats are much more content staying close to home.
* 🐈🐈‍⬛ Better Behavior at Home: Neutering significantly decreases territorial spraying and strong-smelling urine marking indoors. It also reduces aggressive behaviors and fighting with other household pets.
* 🐈‍⬛ Healthier Life: Desexed cats are at a much lower risk of developing testicular cancer and prostate problems.
Give your feline friend the best chance at a long, healthy, and safe life by keeping him desexed and protected.
