Wow, a bit shout out ππ to our amazing driver Ueli who drove us now more then 10000km around our beautiful country all the way through the dinosaurs π¦ plains around Winton and Longreach,
searching for the MinMin Lights in Boulia,
reaching the Outback, stayed on stations, Tobermorey was a great one, just on the NT/QLD border, witnessing a mustering, battling all these huge 50m road trains, drove on notorious Plenty Hwy and Lasseter/Stuart Highway to Alice Springs, Uluru ( Ayers Rock)
Entered Outback South Australia, stayed in Coober Pedy, a very interesting Outback mining town with heaps of dugouts where people actually live underground.
Watched mindblowing sunsets in the Outback and digged for Opals and other precious stones.
Flinders Ranges was an absolutely breathtaking adventure on its own, seeing all the scenery and size, staying again on sheep stations. Ueli practices his 4WD skills on the many tracks around.
Our caravan wasn't so impressed with all the shaking so we had to had a compulsory stopover in Quorn, a lovely town between the Flinders and Port Augusta. Glad we had to stop as we would have missed all the beauty and history of this town.
The bolt on the lower control arm broke but our Mr Fixer managed to source a huge bolt as a temporary solution so we didn't get stuck in the Outback. Thanks God π ππ, wouldn't really like to stuck there for too long, might get eaten by the flies π
No , actually wasn't this bad with the flies.
After the caravan was roadworthy again, we headed to a station called Spears Creek where Ueli had lots of opportunities to practise his 4WD skills again π
Eyre Peninsula was the next destination where we spend two weeks exploring the Peninsula incl
Whyalla, Arno Bay, Tumby Bay, Port Lincoln, Coffin Bay, Streaky Bay, Smoky Bay and Kimba
Thanks to our friend Sandra who gave us all these valuable info about the area.
Enjoyed lovely fresh Oysters, the best we have ever eaten, just very yummy π even Jet, our doodle dog, π loved them. Amazing scenery
Headed back East ,quick D- tour to Whyalla to visit the Elvis fanatic in his crazy house which was a very delightful experience for our Rocknroll passion π πΊ
The journey back continues through Port Augusta, Broken Hill/Cobar/ Lightning Ridge/Westmar ( even witness a real country horse event called Campdraft with lots of horses and riders, started before 6am)
Then we reached the 10k milestone just before reaching Moonie.
Further we pass then to through Kingaroy, make sure we don't forget to stop at the magnificent bakery in Goomeri, yummy cakes and breads π
Overnight stay at bush camp in Goomeri, then home sweet home.
It's nice to go away, but nice to be home after such a long travel.
What an amazing time we all had π§‘thank you
