Haven’t posted on here in a while.

I’ve been off the last 12 months dealing with a couple of pretty serious injuries (broken neck and back), but I’m back into it now.

I’m starting to take on a few horses again.

I focus on starting young horses properly and putting a solid foundation into them so they come out quiet, confident and easy to handle. Horses you can actually go and use — whether that’s trail riding, mustering, or just something safe and reliable.

First day of kindergarten for my two little QH c**ts! 🐴

These guys came to me completely unhandled, so our first lesson was all about building trust with plenty of pats and more pats.

I spend so much of my time training and retraining horses for my clients, so it’s always exciting when I get the chance to work on my own projects. Stay tuned for updates as we make progress with these cool little fellas!

A reminder that horses are natural prey animals so their fear based instincts can override at times when faced with challenges they perceive as scary.

We do alot of work with nervous horses and safely expose them to both new and old obstacles that they fear to help them build confidence in themselves and trust in their rider.

Client Profile - Ice-man

This 2 year old c**t was a pleasure to start and have around for the duration of his training. It was no surprise that this young horse was going to exceed at everything that was asked of him, the quality of this horse is a direct reflection of the dedication and expertise of his owners/breeders.
While we’re sad to see him leave, we’re excited to have him back for more training next year and look forward to seeing his continued progress.

We’ve welcomed a variety of horses at Billy Rumbel - Horse Training over the past couple months, and it’s been quite a busy time.

This is Pirouette, a young mare that came to us to be started under saddle. We were sad to say goodbye to at the end of her training program.
Pirouette started as a nervous horse with a slight bucking issue. In no time, she learned to trust the process and emerged as a strong, reliable partner.
Saying she took everything on like a champion would be an understatement. As sad as it was to say goodbye we're excited to see what Pirouette will achieve with her loving owner and her new riding career 🙂
