Bird flu has recently been detected in Australia, so it’s understandable to have questions.

For most pets, the current risk is still very low. But if you have backyard chickens, pet birds, or you come across a sick or dead wild bird, it helps to know what to look for and what to do next.

Puppy Preschool Week 4 means one thing... graduation week! 🎓🐾

Before the certificates and puppy photo moment, there’s one final class focused on the practical things every puppy owner should know.

In Week 4, we cover:
- pet insurance
- microchipping and registration
- grooming
- desexing
- dental health

Then comes the fun part... graduation.

Your pup will officially become an Evervet Puppy Preschool graduate and get their moment in the spotlight.

🎓 Puppy Preschool Week 4 — it's Graduation Day! 🐾

We've made it to graduation day in our Puppy Preschool summary. And in real life - our next class starts Thursday 9th so call us ASAP to book your spot!

In Week 4 your pup is about to become an official Evervet Puppy Preschool graduate 🥹 But before the big celebration, there's one final class to get through.

In Week 4 we'll cover:

✅ Pet insurance: why starting early is so important

✅ Microchipping & registration: what's required & how to stay up to date

✅ Grooming: bathing, brushing, eye & ear care, nail trims (and those pesky a**l glands 😵‍💫)

✅ Desexing: what to expect & when to book it in. Expert tips from our experienced vet nurse and personalised advice for your dog

✅ Dental health: simple habits that can save big vet bills down the track

And then… 🎉 GRADUATION! Your pup will officially earn their certificate and get their moment in the spotlight. See if they remember their 'sit' and 'look' to pose for their photo!

Puppy Preschool Week 2 is where the learning really starts to click 🐾

By this stage, your puppy is starting to settle into home life and is ready to build some important foundations.

In Week 2, we cover:
- nutrition and foods to avoid
- training basics
- sit
- look
- down/drop
- mat training

These are the little skills that make a big difference in everyday life.

Whether your puppy is a quick learner or needs a little more patience, our certified dog trainer and qualified vet nurse will guide you every step of the way.

🐾 Puppy Preschool Week 3 — your pup is really finding their stride! 🐶

We're almost there in our little prelude of what Puppy School at Evervet Hawthorn entails. By Week 3, the puppies are growing in confidence and the skills are really starting to stack up. We tackle some of the most practical, real-world skills you and your pup will use every single day.

In Week 3 we'll cover:

✅ Wait/Stay: perfect for crossings, doorways & everyday manners

✅ Come & Recall: the most important command for off-lead adventures at the park

✅ Loose Leash Walking: so walks are enjoyable for both of you!

✅ Body Language: learn to read what your pup is really telling you and build on what we learnt in Week 1

Understanding your puppy's body language is one of the most valuable things you'll take away from Puppy Preschool, and it will help you and your dog for their whole life.
