Faecal Egg Counts!

Have you considered wormer resistance on your property? Have you ever performed a reduction test (do you know what it is?)? Do you know who the big shredders are in your herd?

We provide a FEC service local to the Adelaide Hills with drop off points available at Marlborough Park in Oakbank or direct to us at Harrogate.

There is a horrendously gangly phase that young Lipizzaners go through, when you would never believe what they will become. These two boys are going through that phase now! 😆

Nonetheless, they are both waiting here until their perfect humans find them.

Times are definitely looking uncertain everywhere for now so we are happy to work in with serious prospective buyers to plan for the future whether that means growing out here indefinitely, interstate delivery, etc.

A beautiful morning was spent at the RPSBS SA All Breeds Summer Show '26 where it was Siglavy Bekescsaba's turn to have an outing and he came home with the Supreme Lipizzaner award.

Many thanks to our ring sponsor Lauriston Park, the judges and stewards, Amy Litchfield (and her army) for a great show!

PUREBRED LIPIZZANER COLTS
Due to unexpected circumstances, we are offering these two lovely boys on the market. This is a rare opportunity to choose between two quality Lipizzaner c**ts!

Both are by the multi-supreme winning stallion Siglavy Bekescsaba (Spanish Riding School lines).

Siglavy Bonadea (Max) is the only progeny in Australia out of the proven riding mare Bonadea. Max is an easy, sweet tempered c**t with good bone and is a correct, classic type. Suited to any level rider, and has that "Lipizzaner look" that will make dreams come true!

Siglavy Gidrane II (George Sparklebum) is out of the quality producing mare Gidrane. He will mature into a powerful horse with talent and presence to burn and will be more suited to an experienced/professional rider wanting to ride at advanced levels.

Both c**ts are well handled, have good, correct conformation and are dual registered. Option to geld. Sale by breeder.

$18,000 each
Located South Australia

(Due to our recent experience, no payment plans will be offered at this time)

It's such a great feeling to have quality young mares like Ildike and Gisella in the paddock, and even better when they are both home bred.

Ildi is still doing the walk of shame after missing to frozen this season, but she is continuing her duties as the herd watchdog. Something she takes VERY seriously!

What will your horse need from you in the extreme heat over the next few days?

》 Shade
》Abundant water (checked at least once daily even if automatic)
》 All rugs off
》Closely monitor foals (check that they are properly on the suck and hydrated at least every few hours)
》Have all evacuation plans/supplies ready

Wherever possible, turn your electric fences off to avoid shorts or fallen branches igniting dry grass.

Ups & downs...
The last 12 months have probably been our hardest from a breeding and horse ownership perspective. We survived the toughest drought we have experienced so far with both hay and water shortages for months on end. We finally got good rains, which continued into hay baling just to make things tricky but we got there in the end.

Unfortunately, both our expectant mares lost their pregnancies, so we have no 2025 foals.

The crazy Spring weather saw mares not cycling properly, if at all, and ours were no different. Some disappointing results, but we do have one confirmed pregnancy...

Ischia is positive to Siglavy Bekescsaba with the foal due mid November. First option is in place for a filly, but a c**t will be available for sale. While she is our only successful pregnancy this year, it is an important one as Ischia is an older mare and has finally overcome her cervix issue from two years ago. Ildike is her most recent foal, and every foal that Ischia can still produce will be an asset to the Australian Lipizzaner population.

Looking on the bright side, we have commenced our next big fencing project to give us more much needed paddocks. We would have really struggled this year with housing arrangements for wet mares, but our new paddocks will create a much more workable layout moving forward and give us the freedom to make our 2026 breeding season bigger and better.

Onwards and upwards!
