Possums will find all sorts of corners to snuggle down in. So long as they are safe and protected from the weather and predators, they can have a good rest before dark falls.

A little beautiful innocent, not a pest but an important member of the Australian ecosystem. Support our possums.

πŸš—πŸ¨ Wildlife Emergency Kit – Are You Prepared?

We are often asked what you should keep in your car in case you come across injured wildlife, especially koalas, on our roads. Having a few simple items on hand can make a huge difference while waiting for a rescuer to arrive.

🧺 Wildlife Emergency Essentials:
βœ”οΈ Thick towel or blanket – protects you from teeth and claws and helps safely move off road and cover wildlife
βœ”οΈ Washing basket – can be placed over a koala to keep them safe and contained (and handy for storing your emergency kit)
βœ”οΈ Flagging tape or bright marker – helps rescuers locate the animal if you can’t stay
βœ”οΈ Torch – useful for seeing the animal safely at night or in low-light conditions

πŸ‘‰ For step-by-step tips on what to do if you hit or find a koala on the road, visit our website: https://www.kagr.org.au/koalas-and-roads/

(Photo of a kind local, Noel, who witnessed this koala being struck by another vehicle, then carefully moved her off the road and remained with her until rescuers arrived).

Happy 100th Birthday Sir David Attenborough! πŸ’™

Thank you for taking us to places we may never have seen, introducing us to the wonders of our planet and reminding us why Earth is worth protecting. 🌿

An icon of the environmental movement, Sir David has been inspiring generations long before Planet Ark was established in 1992. When challenges arise, it’s people like Sir David who remind us why our work matters and inspire us to keep going.

🌳 Plant a tree, recycle every day, join a community group, learn to sew, share ideas, reduce meat consumption and do our bit for the sake of our Earth.
