TICK PREVENTION!!!

We have seen a lot of tick cases recently at the clinic….Ticks can cause life-threatening tick paralysis in our pets, and prevention really is the best protection. Even if your pet doesn’t spend much time in the bush, ticks can still find their way into your backyard and your house!

🕷️ Keep your pet’s tick prevention up to date
🔎 Check your pets regularly, especially after being outside
🚨 If you notice weakness, wobbliness, vomiting, breathing changes or a change in their voice, seek veterinary attention immediately

Reception is running a little slower today… 🐾💙

We had some very important little visitors helping out at the front desk, and let’s just say productivity took a slight hit. It’s hard to answer phones when you’re busy soaking up puppy cuddles! 🥹

These gorgeous little pups melted all of our hearts, and we couldn’t resist sharing a few of our favourite snaps. We love watching them grow from tiny bundles of fluff into confident, happy dogs.

From cute pup to handsome young man… 🐾💙

Swipe to see Pachi’s glow-up! It’s hard to believe how much he’s grown in just a few months. From those oversized ears and puppy eyes to the handsome boy he is today, he’s only getting cuter with age.

We absolutely love watching our patients grow, and it’s always a highlight when Pachi comes in to visit. We can’t wait to see what the next few months bring for this gorgeous boy! 🐶✨

✨ Meet Peta! ✨

We’re excited to introduce one of the newest members of the Duke Street Vet team – Peta! 💙

Peta began her veterinary nursing journey back in 1993 and became a qualified Veterinary Nurse in 1998, bringing decades of knowledge and experience to our clinic. She joined us in June, and we’re so happy to have her on board!

Her favourite part of the job is assisting with surgeries, dental procedures, and caring for wildlife. 🩺🦷🦘

Peta has called Gympie home since 1997 and is also a full-time mum to four beautiful children, so life certainly keeps her busy! When she’s not at work, you’ll usually find her camping, fishing, or enjoying the great outdoors with her family.

At home, she’s kept company by her lovable dog Chop 🐶 and her cat Nookie 🐱.

Be sure to say hello to Peta next time you’re in the clinic! 👋💚
