Some fantastic information from a fellow groomer that will benefit your furbaby in the long run.
The cooler weather is coming, we will see you after winter!
It’s what every groomer does NOT want to hear.
Although popular belief is that a dog’s hair should be allowed to grow out during wintertime to keep it warm, this can be more detrimental than beneficial. Suppose a dog’s hair is left long and isn’t regularly groomed. This can cause the formation of uncomfortable mats and tangles, leading to skin irritations and infections.
Some owners prefer to keep their dog's coat longer for added warmth, while others opt for a shorter trim for easier maintenance.
A great groomer can help you achieve and maintain your dog's coat be it long and fluffy coat or mid length to short. Regular grooming visits, typically every 4-6 weeks, are essential for the longer coats.
Let’s aim to not shave your dog down this winter.
