Sometimes life gets away from us.

This absolutely hilarious little guy found himself without a groomer for a while, and things got out of hand before his very loving family gave me a call. We spent a lazy Thursday morning getting him comfortable (and doing a lot of post-bath zoomies and play!) A job like this takes time, care, and a unique set of skills to make sure the dog is safe and comfortable while we work together to get the job done.

It happens (even in the most amazing families) and people can find themselves stuck in situations where they might be worried about getting help. They may see posts online of groomers saying some unkind things, or making comments that just aren't helpful, and it can be really discouraging. I'm so glad his family trusted me enough to allow me the pleasure of spending time with him - he's actually the funniest!

I hope my clients always feel comfortable asking for help, knowing they're walking into a space where they will be supported and given the time and care they need to start fresh 🥰

✨ A HUGE THANK YOU ✨

What an absolutely wonderful year with my Dramatic Paws pups!

Thank you to everyone who has booked in, trusted me with their best friends, supported me and encouraged me. 2025 was my first *full* calendar year in business, and it has exceeded ALL of my expectations. Every little update message, "Merry Christmas", box of sneaky choccies, little sip of wine, Google review, and rebook has truly reminded me of how privileged I am to be able to work with all of you.

2026 is going to come with a few changes. Increased availability, flexibility, and appointment options; including a few very coveted spots open for brand new small and medium breed clients.

We are closed for some minor renos (and a much needed break), and I'll be back in the salon on January 5th. If you are a regular who hasn't booked in for 2026, you will receive a New Year's reminder message.

✨ 2026 APPOINTMENTS AND PRICE CHANGES ✨

Hello, Dramatic Paws pups!

Just a heads up - I am currently booking for 2026!!

What does this mean?

It means you have the opportunity to secure your appointments for the year, before I fill up. In amazing news - I have added FRIDAYS to the schedule, so you have a few more appointment options for 2026. I do prefer that clients book in blocks of 6 or 12 months, as it helps me plan things out and make sure your pups are feeling and looking their best.

If you haven't yet made your 2026 bookings, please send me a message and we'll make sure you're all booked in.

Prices will also be going up for the new year. All grooms and tidy-ups will be $10 more starting in 2026.

I will still offer a discount for my 4 weekers (pups booked in every 4 weeks or less) and my registered Service Dogs who are in active service. This includes baths and tidy-ups between regular full grooms.

Hugo is actually TOO CUTE.
Does he look familiar to you? Hugo is the son of Cookie, who also recently had a big transformation ☺️

Hugo came in for his first ever big boy haircut, and he did so well. Just like his Dad, he is nervous, gentle, shy and needs a bit more support.

Finding the right groomer who will be calm, patient, loving and understanding with a nervous puppy means setting them up for success.

Let's give Hugo a round of applause for being so brave!!

✨ UPDATES ON POLICIES AND PRICING ✨

September has seen a few changes for our Dramatic Paws fam. One being a change in policies for late cancellations and no-shows, and the other being a change in how prices are delivered and collected. The neat thing about both of these policy changes is that they have been suggested BY YOU!

Firstly is a change to how late cancellations and no-shows are handled. From September 1st, any cancellations with less than 24hrs notice, or same day no-shows, will have a 50% fee attached. Dramatic Paws is a ᵀᶦⁿʸ business, and missed appointments have a pretty significant impact on income and scheduling. This new policy is being put into place to avoid having to take deposits. Please please please message me as soon as you know you may have to miss or reschedule your appointment!

The other changes are to pricing. I thought verrrryyyy hard about whether to up my prices for the new financial year. The cost of everything has gone up, my skill levels have gone up, and so it made sense. Ultimately I decided against it. I know everyone is doing it tough at the moment, and being a community minded business, I want to make sure that my services remain accessible to my clients.

So what are the price changes about then, Mandy?!

Firstly, payments for services will need to be paid on the day of the service. If you have a friend or relative collecting your dog, please make sure that they have payment ready on collection. This helps me with my accounting end of the business, and means I can fire my collections department (it's me, in my Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pyjamas at 10pm 🐢)

Secondly, from September 1st, you will have the option to tip on EFTPOS! Do you have to tip? Nope. Can you? Yep! This gives you the option to add as little or as much onto your bill as you want. If you feel like I've done a great job, and you want to add on a couple dollars, you can. If you don't want to, or you aren't able to, there will be a "no tip" option as well.

I will (awkwardly) hand you the EFTPOS machine with the tip screen active, and you can make whatever selection you want. I can't stress enough that this is NOT a mandatory tip. It is something a few of my clients have suggested I offer, and it is what I am trialing as an alternative to a price rise.

✨ IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL CLIENTS ✨

2025 is in full swing. We have finally got through January (why did that feel like an entire year?!) and it's time to start thinking about this year's bookings.

Appointments are going fast, with the organized among you choosing to secure your spots for the whole year so you don't miss out. If you are an existing client, and you would like to hop on that hot trend, please send me a message.

My books are still closed to new clients, but I appreciate every message I get. Groomers love to share the love, and I've enjoyed helping people find a safe and wonderful groomer with availability. My books will remain closed for the foreseeable future, so I can make sure that existing clients have appointments available.

Price increases. Gross. It's something I've been avoiding since last year. I did let some of you know to look out for the increase in December, but I chose to delay the increase as long as possible. Unfortunately, the rising costs of products and services that keep us moving forward are starting to hit me a bit hard, and I can't delay the increase any longer. I refuse to cut corners on things like shampoos & conditioners, keeping my tools safe, continuing education, and those finishing touches that set Dramatic Paws apart from the rest. You guys deserve the best, and I will always make sure to offer that. I have made sure that my prices are still competitive, and I will still offer discounts to my 4 week or less clients. Most of you will see an increase of $10 per groom. If you're unsure about your new pricing, or if the increase will affect you, please send a message and we can have a chat.
