I’d like to introduce Henry, and also thank my family for their help and care in getting me and my horses through the last 2+ yrs of my surgery and recovery. I have no words to convey my love and gratitude ❤️. And so now it is my pleasure to present Henry for sale after 3 years with our family, reinventing himself. I will do a series of follow up posts with loads more details, and I hope you get half as much pleasure as I do in seeing him so happy, so healthy and so ready for life’s new adventures.

Seeking VOLUNTEERS. We rescue, rehabilitate and retrain horses, many racehorses, and we are currently seeking volunteers to aid in exercising, grooming and paddock care. Hi everyone, today I am going to drop the amount on my go fund me as I think people are afraid that with the amount so high, how can the small donations they might be able to afford help? Please know everything helps, no matter how small! Chemo is the big expense, but we go through lots of tubes of eye antibiotic cream and they are less than $10 each! But Henry is not a fan and we end up with half the cream every where but his eye! He gets very tall and is very good at dodging! But I am very determined and very patient!! So please know, any help is useful and appreciated!! Lets aim for just getting him started with chemo and not worrying about all the stuff that ‘might’ happen along the way. Thank you so much to everyone for sharing this story, all of your kind messages and to those who have donated already!! ❤️

Henry our rescue TB is feeling pretty quiet this morning, a bit sore and swollen after yesterday’s surgery, but ok. Ate all his brekky and was taking a well deserved nap when I went to check on him just now. Thank you so much to those of you who have donated to Henry’s medical treatment, we are so very grateful for your kindness and generosity. Dr Low has stressed that the sooner we start chemotherapy the better. The initial installation of the device to administer the medication is $1500 and the medication itself is approximately $500 per bottle with the course requiring an unknown number at this point. There is also the possibility of Henry damaging his head gear and if that happens it is the $1500 every time it has to be replaced. Hopefully he doesn’t find it so irritating. So far we have already spent over $2000 on consultation, biopsy, pathology and removal of the tumour. Any help you can give us towards Henry’s medical costs to fight his cancer would be greatly appreciated. If you’re unable to help financially we would greatly appreciate it if you can share this with your friends and family. Many thanks to everybody for their kind thoughts and wishes. ❤️

All the work is done!! No post career let down. No waiting for health problems to show up. No trying to wrangle bad behaviours from a horse that only knows racing life. Henry has had 3 years to go through all of these things and has come through the other side an absolute powerhouse! Advertised today in Horse Deals.

I get a bit of flack for protecting my horses by putting protective boots on them for training and on raceday. What’s common in Europe is deemed too ‘heavy’ or ridiculous by some trainers and jockeys locally. I can’t stress enough how important I deem my horses safety!! Since changing to the PE Air Cooled Super Lite Carbon Tech Racing Boots 2 years ago made by Premier Equine England my horses are protected with KEVLAR guards for tendons on the front and shins on the back! Horses that are a bit young or clumsy gain so much confidence when they realise they are not hurting themselves anymore. Those that believe the pain teaches are not correct. For many it is a conformation issue, stride problems or even an unbalanced rider. Check out the weights of these boots! Barely more than a race plate!!! Certainly not heavy. And they do not absorb or hold water. And they certainly do not heat the legs either. These are a professional choice for racing trainers in the UK and a lot of time, money and testing has gone into making them right for racehorses. Time to step into the new millennium and out of the dark ages!!! @ Ipswich, Queensland
