Kiyo and Charlie, the cutest siblings at 10 weeks old.

It's impossible to believe they are turning 5 years old this year. They both have their show championships and some end titles. Kiyo is a mother and Charlie is an uncle twice over.

They are the light of their respective parents lives and we can't imagine what we'd do without them (probably vacuum less πŸ˜…)

Kiyo is the mother to our current litter. Kiyo's babies have arrived safely and everyone is doing well. Photos to come soon πŸ‘€πŸΎ

Teaching Kiyo (Ch Rozate Taco The Town TKS) agility foundations was special, and now teaching her daughter Chatter, (Artaldea Wire Tap) the same things years later is a dream come true.

Why do we take our aussies herding? Because they love it obviously!

We believe it's important for our dogs to do things they enjoy. We also believe having our dogs experience something that is extremely relevant to the breed's history and their genetics is just as important as them having fun.

Aussies have been present in many different fields of work throughout the years. Their original purpose of working livestock required them to be natural workers who were easy to train. Their fierce loyalty and devotion to their owners made them the ideal farm and family dog. Movement into modern times called for their talents to be used in a larger variety of work and sport including but not limited to: Scent detection, agility, flyball ,search and rescue, Assistance and Therapy work (and many more).

While not as prominent now, the original purpose of the breed as working stock dogs still remains across the world as well as them competing at stock dog trials.

The breed standard states that: β€œThe Australian Shepherd is intelligent, primarily a working dog of strong herding and guardian instincts. He is an exceptional companion. He is versatile and easily trained, performing his assigned tasks with great style and enthusiasm.” What better way to prove this is alive in our dogs than them being able to do the thing they were bred for (and much more).

We currently have four dogs training/trialing in herding. Pictured is Chatter (Artaldea Wire Tap) a few months ago during one of her herding lessons. She has such great passion and natural instinct for herding. Fingers crossed that we will see some herding titles from her during the next herding season.

The one who started it all πŸ’œ

Our foundation girl, Juniper (Rozate Blue Fenugreek) during the Allora shows last weekend. June is now six years old and loving her time showing in neuter after being the BEST mother to our Foodie, Larson and Cheers litters.

Junie is a typical Aussie. She is fiercely loyal, extremely smart, quirky, cheeky, full of opinions (and judgement πŸ˜†), but so sweet and loving. We are so lucky to have such an amazing girl to start our journey with.

Maple (Artaldea Butter Up That Bacon) and Kiyo (Ch Rozate Taco The Town TKS) at Queens Park in Toowoomba getting to know each other. Kiyo clearly enjoys being an aunty to such an adorable puppy.

Always so heartwarming to see our different generations together πŸ’•
