SEVEN DOGS TRAVELED 17 KM TO FIND THEIR WAY BACK HOME AFTER ESCAPING CAPTIVITY ๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Seven dogs in China made an incredible journey of 17 kilometers after escaping from people who had taken them.

Among them were German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Labradors, and even a small Pekingese. They were later spotted walking together along a highway in Changchun โ€” determined, loyal, and not giving up.

The dogs had escaped from a restaurant that served dog meat, which is still legal in some parts of China. But what happened next touched millions.

A video of their journey spread quickly across social media, showing their strength, their bond, and their will to return home.

On March 19, 2026, all seven dogs finally reunited with their families โ€” some of them even coming from the same village.

This wasnโ€™t just a journeyโ€ฆ it was loyalty, courage, and love finding its way home. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ’”โžก๏ธโค๏ธ

This is a beautiful example of pack behavior. We are privileged that dogs have chosen to live with us and consider us their pack. We should honor this.๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพโค๏ธ

Seven dogs Meant To Be Eaten in China Escaped and Walk 17KM Home ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ•
In Jilin, a group of seven dogs from three different households was taken and loaded onto a transport vehicle. The group included a German Shepherd, a Golden Retriever, a Corgi, and several other dogs who all knew each other from their village.
While traveling along the Changshuang Expressway, the dogs managed to escape.
But instead of scattering, they stayed together.
The seven formed a tight group and began making their way home, traveling nearly 11 miles over two days. Witnesses and drone footage showed something remarkable larger, stronger dogs positioned themselves around an injured German Shepherd, protecting it as they moved. Smaller dogs stayed safely within the group as they navigated unfamiliar roads and traffic.
They never split up. As the story spread online, local rescuers and volunteers helped track their journey, sharing updates to ensure they stayed safe along the way.
Finally, after two days, all seven dogs made it back and were reunited with their owners. Aside from minor injuries, they were safe.
Their families, who had feared the worst, were overwhelmed with relief.
Many believe their strong bond came from growing up together playing side by side every day which helped them stay united through the entire journey.
Itโ€™s a powerful reminder of loyalty, teamwork, and the deep connections animals form not just with humans, but with each other.

โ€ผ๏ธRat Bait Warning โ€ผ๏ธ

With an increase in the rodent activity at the moment there is a lot of Rat bait being used. Whilst rat bait might be effective for rodent control, it poses a very real and potentially deadly threat to your pets.

There are a few different types of Rat Bait used.

1. Anticoagulant rodenticides - work by preventing blood from clotting. Cause death in rodents from internal or external bleeding. 1st Generation - warfarin, coumatetralyl and diphacinone. 2nd Generation - brodifacoum, bromadiolone, difethialone, difenacoum and flocoumafen

2. Zinc phosphide - Causes production of phosphine gas in the stomach leading to coma & death

3. Bromethalin: A neurotoxin that causes brain swelling.

4. Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3): Causes fatal kidney failure.

The most common rodenticide poisoning we see at Wheatbelt Vet is Anticoagulant rodenticides. Bleeding can occur anywhere in the body and most animals are not presented to the veterinarian until clinical signs develop, which may be days after ingestion.

It is important to watch for:
- pale gums
- bleeding noses
- bruises under the skin
- bleeding that will not stop from small wounds
- bloody Diarrhoea
- blood in urine or faeces
- rapid or laboured breathing
- lethargy or collapse
- lameness
- seizures

๐ŸถWhat to do if you pet eats Rat Bait ๐Ÿ™€

If you have seen your pet eat Rat Bait or a dead rodent that has possibly eaten rat bait then present to a vet immediately to induce vomiting .
If you notice signs of bleeding from your animal & there is bait on/around your property then present to the vet for blood testing.
Keep your pet calm to limit movement and reduce the risk of internal bleeding.
Remove any remaining bait or dead rodents from the property/where it is accessibly to your pet.

Please always lets us know if you have Rat Bait at home, especially if your animal is coming for surgery. Bring the bait packaging or find out the active ingredient .
