โ ๏ธ Wildlife injury warning: Image shows of a carpet python .๐ ๐ฅฒ๐ก
This is a carpet python non venomous ..
A lady in Goodna contacted us to have the snake safely removed and was happy for us to attend, paying for the service. While I was on the phone taking the call, I could hear metal objects being thrown in the background. When I asked if someone was throwing things at the snake, she confirmed that a friend was. I immediately asked her to have him stop, as throwing metal objects can seriously injure the snake and greatly increases the risk of someone getting bitten or our snake catchers get bitten โ especially if the snake is venomous.
Unfortunately this poor snake was injured and had to be taken to a wildlife vet, where it is suspected to have a broken jaw. On arrival, Norman caught the snake had a firm but respectful education talk about snake safety and wildlife protection. In Queensland, and Australia, ๏ฟผit is it is illegal to harm snakes or any wildlife, and people can face significant fines for injuring or killing them. This is a reminder that once a licensed snake catcher has been called, the safest and kindest option is to keep your distance and allow professionals to handle the situation.
