Every night, our puppies sleep snugly in the laundry with their amazing mum -Minnie. This setup gives them a cosy, safe space to rest and bond as a family. Every morning, we head outside in the garden for playtime! This isn’t just about burning off energy – it’s all about enrichment. Playtime helps their little bodies grow stronger, stimulates their senses, and builds their confidence as they explore new sights, sounds, and textures. 🐾🐾
Whilst they have their outdoor adventures, I clean and refresh their laundry space with fresh towels and puppy pads to keep things clean and hygienic. A clean environment is so important for their health and comfort!
Now that they’re 4 weeks old, we’ve started introducing solids into their diet. They’re enjoying high-quality puppy food softened with warm water, and some blended puppy-safe meats and veggies. This mix is perfect for their tiny tummies, providing the nutrition they need to grow big and strong. We’re feeding them small amounts 3–4 times a day to make sure their transition from mum’s milk is gradual and gentle.
To help these pups grow into balanced, well-adjusted dogs, we’ve been focusing on early socialisation. Here’s what we’ve been up to:
✨ Exposure to New Sounds: Gentle household noises, music, and even some recorded sounds like thunderstorms to help them stay calm and unbothered.
✨ Different Surfaces: Grass, tiles, carpet, to build their confidence and coordination.
✨ Gentle Handling: Everyone in the family takes turns cuddling and gently handling them to get them used to human touch.
✨ Meeting New People and Scents: Carefully introducing them to visitors and giving them safe exposure to new smells and friendly faces.
There’s a lot involved with raising puppies, but seeing them grow, learn, and play makes every moment worth it. ❤️🐾
