Cute little Ralph came in to see us with a very swollen cheek! 🐿️ Swelling like this on one side of the face under the eye area, is commonly linked with a tooth root abscess. Further investigation was needed to confirm this though.

From the outside, Ralph’s teeth looked healthy, but once we did some dental x-rays the culprit was very obvious. He had a fractured carnassial tooth and also some pocketing around the root, which indicates the abscess (swipe left to see Ralph’s x-ray) 🩻

This tooth was extracted by Dr Yolande along with a full scale and polish and some pain relief 🦷✨

Ralph’s facial swelling resolved and he went back to living his best life! 🐶🐾

Did you know your pet will wake up from anaesthesia with their tongue hanging out? 👅 We wait for their swallow reflex to return before we extubate and continue to monitor them very closely until they are fully conscious and sitting up 🩵🐾

These two little cuties, Luna & Leia came in for a casual visit today 🐶💖🐶 They were both very shy & unsure at first but we are seeing their trust & confidence grow! Lots of liver treats are definitely helping! 🩵🐾
