One of the most important things I do when I arrive for a new stay is take the dogs out for a gentle walk shortly after their owner leaves.

From a Fear Free perspective, this isn’t just “exercise”—it’s emotional regulation.

When owners leave, many dogs experience a spike in stress hormones, uncertainty, or pent-up energy. Instead of keeping them in that heightened state (which can lead to pacing, barking, toileting accidents, or overwhelm), we give them a safe, positive outlet.

A calm walk allows them to:
• Release nervous energy in a healthy way
• Engage in natural behaviours like sniffing (which is incredibly calming)
• Lower stress levels and reset their nervous system
• Build trust and a positive association with me from the very beginning

By the time we return home, they’re more relaxed, settled, and able to transition into the new routine with confidence 🤍

Firstly, thank you for being here. We know we’ve been a little quiet on social media lately, and we want to be open about why.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been navigating some big decisions in our business. Like many journeys in business, not every choice unfolds the way you expect—and sometimes those lessons can be quite costly. But they are always valuable.

We’ve taken this time to pause, reassess, and refine—focusing on creating a more streamlined, thoughtful, and user-friendly experience for you. Because at the heart of everything we do is providing a service you can trust, and a standard of care that feels aligned, calm, and consistent.
