📣 WE ARE OPEN TODAY:

Power, phones & internet have been restored overnight & Gold Coast Vet Surgery will be opening as usual at 8am today.

We are most grateful to Energex workers, and all emergency teams, who are working tirelessly in very difficult conditions to get us all back to normal ASAP.

Thank you also to the amazing emergency vets at Animal Emergency Service Carrara and at SASH - Small Animal Specialist Hospital Gold Coast who were available for our patients whilst we were forced to close.

Our thoughts are with those who are still without power or are dealing with flooding. Please keep yourselves & your pets safe.

All cases seen by appointment only please. Call us on (07) 5538 5909 if your pet is unwell.

UPDATE 6AM MONDAY:

Power & internet has been restored overnight & Gold Coast Vet Surgery will be opening as usual at 8am today.

OPENING HOURS UPDATE:

We hope that all of our clients & your pets have safely got through Cyclone Alfred & it's after effects.

Unfortunately, as the clinic currently has no power, phones or internet it is looking very unlikely that we will be able to re-open on Monday morning.

However, we will continue to monitor the situation & we will re-open to help look after your fur babies & any injured wildlife as soon as possible.

All surgery scheduled for Monday has unfortunately been cancelled & all appointments have been notified. We will be in touch to reschedule as soon as we can.

As we prepare to re-open we ask our clients to please be patient & consider rescheduling non-urgent appointments.

Please email us on: [email protected] if you need to cancel or rebook your appointment.

As the clinic may not be attended, please DO NOT arrive without a confirmed appointment.

If you are unable to reach us in case of accident or emergency then please call either VSS in Carrara on 07 5530 6370 or SASH Gold Coast in Robina on: 07 5584 7300.

We look forward to welcoming you back into the clinic soon. Stay safe, from Dr Kevin & Dr Fiona & all the team at Gold Coast Vet Surgery.

🚨 Attention, valued clients! 🚨

Due to Cyclone Alfred, our clinic will be closed from Thursday the 6th of March for safety reasons. We will be back open and ready to care for your pets on Monday the 10th of March.

Please stay safe, and we appreciate your understanding during this time. If you have pets or wildlife in need of urgent care Animal Emergency Service in Carrara, Animal Emergency Centre in Varsity Lakes and SASH in Robina will remain open.

Stay safe 🐾🌪️

Can you please help us? Right now, the su***de rate for veterinarians is four times higher than the average person. Please help us reverse this trend by signing this petition to lobby for government policy and industry change. Together we can better support vet professionals with more preventative mental health support.

This petition has been organised by Sophie's Legacy charity .... Dr. Sophie Putland was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and a beloved vet, who tragically took her own life in September 2021. The pressure of the veterinary profession, including client abuse, became overwhelming for her.

Unfortunately, on average, a vet dies by su***de approximately every 12 weeks. Family and friends established Sophie’s Legacy to honour her memory and advocate for change within the industry. They are determined to see all veterinary staff thrive. Happy vets equals happy pets too, right?

Please take two minutes of your day to click & sign ... & simply post "DONE" in the comments ... it'll mean the world to us - Thank You 🙏

Sign the petition to help Sophie’s Legacy reduce the su***de rate for the veterinary profession
