CLOSURE OF GOLD COAST ALL BREEDS CAT CLUB.
Our club is in it's 58th year since inauguration and sadly over the past 2 decades membership has declined to where it is no longer possible for the remaining dedicated few to muster the woman-power necessary to run cat shows.
So it is with heavy hearts that it has been decided to close our club. This decision has not been an easy one to make as 3 of our remaining members have been involved for 40+ years.
There will not be a cat show on the Gold Coast run by this club this year or into the future.
We would like to thank the members of the public, who have for years supported our club and fundraisers. We have enjoyed running some of the biggest and best cat shows in Queensland for many years. We have hosted the ACF National show and had many fundraisers such as movie mornings, Melbourne Cup days, and publishing a Newsletter which went worldwide by snail mail up until 40 years ago.

Photos will be up soon.
I would like to thank all exhibitors for attending our Show and making it a great success on Saturday. I hope you all had a wonderful day.
Thank you to the judges, members & some exhibitors who stayed behind to help us with the cleanup we were out of there in an hour. It was fantastic and I greatly appreciate your assistance.
Thank you Jenny Weekes who brought my cats home so that I could put all the junk in my car and I didn’t have to return to the hall twice. A small gesture makes life much easier for all of us thank you all once again. 🙏🎉

We would like to thank our major and individual sponsors for our fabulous show that was held last Saturday. Sincere thanks to our regular and fantastic long-term sponsors, Royal Canin and Oz-Pet. Also Eye Envy, APAT, Catlovers Scratch Poles as well as individual members. Liz Robinson for her lovely handmade quilt and also our many rosette sponsors. We are so grateful for all of this sponsorship.
Thank you to all the exhibitors who travelled to the glorious Gold Coast on another beautiful winters day.
Photos will follow in another post once I have clarified what I can do. You will all understand what I mean.

I would like to sincerely thank the executive, and some dedicated members of the Gold Coast Cat Club for their support and hands on assistance in many ways to put on our club 4 ring show last weekend.
Many of our members are always putting their hands in their pockets to help the club in delivering good quality prizes and rosettes for our show.
Thank you to our show Secretary Leilani for a job well done.
We had very positive feedback from judges and many exhibitors on how lovely they thought the hall was and how warm it was early morning.
Our club has always been at the forefront for encouraging change and last weekend saw us trial owner handling. Even though there had been a few negative comments on it leading up to the show some of those same people, then on the day presented their exhibits for the judge. The judges thought it all went well with did not have a negative comment.
Below are some beautiful photographs taken by Russell and Jo-anne Clarke to whom we are very grateful for their time and effort. These are our happy best overall exhibit winners on the day congratulations all, I hope you enjoyed a wonderful day.

Our annual cat show is fast approaching next weekend.
This will be a PRIVATE FUNCTION not open to the public. The reason being that it is a smaller venue and we need to ensure social distancing for the safety of our exhibitors.
SHORTHAIR Exhibitors Just letting you know that Chris Merritt is now judging Longhair and Shorthair exhibits as Belinda Penglis has had to withdraw due to her infected foot.
EXHIBITORS:
Please be aware that we are trialling owner handling at this show. A couple of reasons that this may not occur 1) in Chris Merritts ring as she is doing all exhibits as this may slow things down being the first time, or if the judge prefers to handle their own cats right the way through.
I look forward to welcoming you all to the quaint little hall next Saturday.

I would like to thank the Gold Coast Cat Club Executive and members for the beautiful arrangement of flowers that arrived this afternoon. It brightened my day. They have put them on top of the cupboard so this is the best photo I can get of them up there. They are very nice very much appreciated. 👏
