Transparently, shamelessly, and proudly, I'm taking this opportunity amongst the chaos to give Stable-Ised Equine and its supplements the positive promotion they deserve.
A belief I consistently enforce is that there is more than one way to balance a diet. Consequently, I am completely at peace with the fact that sometimes my products may not suit a consumer's feeding regimen due to factors like local availability or cost, or simply because another product balances better.
I have been assessing and formulating equine diets for far longer than I have been in the supplement game, and the inspiration for my PractiCAL and PractiBALANCE was drawn from the fact I knew there were gaps in the market where it came to ration balancers. At one point, and perhaps still today, PractiCAL was the ONLY pelleted, low-feeding rate balancer for horses grazing on high oxalate grasses that not only included a comprehensive vitamin and mineral profile, but also amino acids and Mycosorb A+ toxin binder. PractiBALANCE was the sister-supplement that followed as the demand for a grain, soy, canola, and molasses free balancer pellet for horses grazing on low-oxalate grasses or hay-reliant diets was high.
My supplements are based on no bu****it (or horsesh*t, if you will), no smoke and mirrors, no misleading marketing. They are simple and effective. If you want to know what forms of calcium I include in the PractiCAL formula, ask me! If you want to know which type of copper and zinc I use in my formulas, ask me! I have nothing to hide and frankly, I am so fed up with feed and supplement companies larger than I am that are deliberately misleading their customers with pretty bags and empty promises.
Have you EVER seen these companies publish independent laboratory test results that match the nutrient analysis listed on their packaging or website? Well... mine are below.
I test my products. I want to make sure that they provide what I say they do. I want them to be as effective as I've formulated them to be. I spend money I don't have to sending samples away for testing so that YOU can be sure of what you're feeding your horses.
PractiCAL and PractiBALANCE contain nothing other than lucerne meal, white oil (a purified mineral oil that is edible, colourless, odourless and tasteless), antioxidants, Mycosorb A+ and my self-formulated vitamin, mineral, and amino acid premix. They are both TESTED at only 3.87% and 3.77% combined sugar and starch respectively. Excuse my to-the-point-ness, but both products are incredible, easy to feed, well-balanced, and effective in their own right.
It's not hard to be transparent, but our equine feed and supplement industry is so poorly regulated that it's easy to get away with almost anything. I could fill my products with cheap, nasty ingredients and hide them behind broad terminology but I honestly wouldn't sleep at night.
If you want to try one of my products, or if you're already a loyal customer, please use the code TRANSPARENCY at my online store for a small discount on PractiCAL, PractiBALANCE, PractiFLAX, and PractiBOOST orders. Who knows, you may just be convinced to give a little, independent business a shot instead of supporting someone who has been taking advantage of their customers for the last several decades.
Signed, a fed-up equine nutritionist.
