ATTENTION : GLEN IRIS / ASHBURTON / EAST MALVERN DOG OWNERS!!

Please keep your doggies away from Gardiners creek for the time being to keep them safe as I have just been advised that there has been a sewer spill on Monday into a stormwater drain which may affect the water quality and could make them quite unwell.

So definitely no swimming in the creek for our furry friends for the time being.

We feel so lucky to have our 3 little dogs particularly during all of these lockdowns that we are experiencing here in Victoria!❤️

Seeing as yesterday was “INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE DOG”, I thought I’d share some recent photos of our 3 playing some fun enrichment games that my 11 year old daughter set up to help keep their minds stimulated during lockdown.

Here we go again Victoria! Lockdown 6.0! We can do it! We’ve done this many times before and will get through it again!

The same rules apply as with each and every other lock down we have had so far so, I look forward to walking your beautiful doggies when the government allows us to once more.

Hi all!

I hope you have had a chance to enjoy the beautiful weather over the last few days?

I thought this was worth posting as I know a few of you might walk your dogs in this area plus it’s also useful information to be aware of.

⚠️⚠️Giardia Alert⚠️⚠️

We would like to update our community as we suspect a nasty parasite called Giardia is being transmitted in local dog parks (in particular Ardrie Park).

➡️ What is Giardia?
- Giardia is a protozoan parasite that is infectious to both humans and pets.
- Once infected, the parasite inhibits the intestines ability to absorb nutrients, water and electrolytes.

➡️ What are the symptoms of Giardia?
- Diarrhoea
- Weight loss
- Vomiting
- Dehydration

➡️ How is Giardia transmitted?
- Your pet must ingest the parasite to become infected.
- Water sources (puddles, wet grass, mud) are the most common sources for Giardia infection.

➡️ Diagnosis
- If your pet is displaying any of the above symptoms please book an appointment
- We will need a faecal sample to diagnose that your pet has Giardia

➡️ Prevention
- Make sure your pet has access to fresh clean drinking water
- Discourage your pet drinking from potential infectious sources, including themselves if they play in mud or wet grass (they usually like to lick themselves which can result in parasite ingestion)
- Make sure your pet is up to date with parasite control

It’s so great to be back after the Christmas break! I always miss the gorgeous doggies I walk and absolutely love seeing and walking them again! ❤️❤️❤️

Layla loved her walk with me today and enjoyed cooling off in a nice big puddle of water afterwards! So gorgeous and one very happy girl!🐶

Welcome back to you all!! I’m so excited to announce that we were finally able to reopen and start our walks again (covid safe of course) and no one (aside from myself and Beau), were more excited than all our gorgeous clients!! It was so wonderful to see them all! Thank you so much for your patience and support during this challenging time once again. We are so happy to be back and available for all your service needs. 😁🐾

*LATEST UPDATE:

Hello everyone! I have had a few clients contact me after yesterday’s announcements asking whether I am able to operate now seeing as I am a sole trader.

Unfortunately the answer to this is no.

Vic Business and the DHHS have confirmed today that there has been no change to our industry at this stage so we still are unable to operate.

Rest assured I will let you all know as soon as there are any changes to this.

Please give your dogs a big pat for me as I am missing them all and I hope that we will be back again sooner rather than later!

IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Due to the latest Stage 4 lockdown Restrictions now being enforced throughout the Greater Melbourne Region and the advice given from the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and Business Victoria, we have made the decision to close our service as of last Wednesday, August 5th, to all of our valued clients until further notice.

We feel this is the right thing to do for our beloved clients and our community as everyone’s safety as well as your dogs, like always, is our number one priority.

Rest assured that we will be here for you once again with our covid safe plan and infection control policies in place all ready for when the restrictions are lifted and we have been given the go ahead to safely re-open again.

We look forward to this day and until then please stay safe everyone and just like the gorgeous Layla in this photo who was caught by her owner waiting patiently for her walk with us a few weeks ago, we hope to see you all again soon! (Fingers crossed!).

(PLEASE NOTE: The ONLY EXCEPTIONS that ARE allowed for Dog Walkers in accordance with advice given from the relevant government organisations DHHS and Business Victoria, will be for clients who are either disabled or suffer from a serious medical condition/illness which prevents them from walking their dog themselves.

In order to prove this I am only able to help if I have all of the relevant paperwork required so please contact me regarding this if you fall into this category.

I WILL NOT do any dog walking if this is not provided and I don’t have everything that is legally required.

Seeing as we are about to enter yet another stage 3 lockdown, I felt that we could all do with a little bit of light humour to cheer us up a bit!
(goodness knows I could do with it with the prospect of more homeschooling inevitability looming ahead!🤣).

It’s House Colours day in our house today! No prizes for guessing which colour house Liv is in❤️🤣.

It’s also a great opportunity to introduce the 2 new members of our family to you all.

Binnie and Benny!

We adopted these 2 beautiful dogs at the end of February after one of my gorgeous clients sadly passed away from cancer at the end of last year and the family couldn’t take them on permanently.😢

We promised her and her lovely family before she passed that we would take them on as we all loved them (especially Beau) and as they were so precious to her (and us), it was the least we could do.

They are settling in beautifully and we absolutely love having them around!

I hope you are all surviving these challenging times and your dogs are loving the extra company. Hopefully we will see you all soon!
