Good morning everyone and happy sunday 🖖🫶🐾🙋‍♀️

I am pleased to announce that I have received a high volume of bookings over the past week, resulting in a fully booked schedule until Monday the 15th. 

To ensure that all clients can secure timely appointments and avoid disappointment, I will be requesting that each client rebook at the end of their session.

Scheduled regular visits to the salon are essential for maintaining the dog's comfort and preventing matting, particularly as we approach the warmer months and Christmas.

🎅 My goal is to ensure that all dogs are well-groomed for the festive season 🧑‍🎄

Introducing the OTTERHOUND ❤️🐾

Otter hunting dates back to the early medieval period, with references to it found as early as 1360.
The Otterhound, however, can only be traced back as a distinct breed as far as the early 1800s.
To be equal to the otter, an Otterhound was said to need "a Bulldog's courage, a Newfoundland's strength in water, a Pointer's nose, a Retriever's sagacity, the stamina of a Foxhound, the patience of a Beagle, and the intelligence of a Collie."

With the bookings so full I would just like to mention that I only have availability from September 12th as I am fully booked out.

Did you know that the tiny vertical groove between a dog’s nose and upper lip actually has a purpose? It’s called the vegetal groove (or philtrum), and it’s not there by accident!

Each time a dog licks its lips, a bit of saliva collects in that groove. Through a process called capillarization, the moisture travels up to the nose — helping keep it damp.

And why does that matter? Because a moist nose is much better at capturing and holding scents from the air. 🌬️✨ That’s part of what makes a dog’s sense of smell so incredibly powerful!
