Cats over 1yr old are tested for FIV.

A small number of our cats/kittens are also available for adoption at Port City Pet World Gladstone Pop in for a visit!

🐾 A huge thank you to ARC 💛🐾

We recently received another incredible delivery through Animal Rescue Cooperative (ARC) - including a huge amount of much-needed mum and baby cat food.

And trust us… it’s needed 😅
Kitten season has absolutely exploded this year and our foster carers have definitely been kept busy.

Deliveries like this make a massive difference behind the scenes and help us continue feeding and caring for the constant stream of hungry little faces arriving into rescue.

ARC supports rescue groups across Australia by helping distribute donated food and supplies where they’re needed most, and support like this genuinely helps take pressure off volunteer-run rescues like ours.

To ARC and everyone involved in making these deliveries happen - thank you. It’s appreciated more than you know 💛🐾

🐾 HAPPY MONDAY 🐾

A huge thank you to this community for another hugely successful week of adoptions 💛

Because of every person who adopts, shares a post, donates food, fosters, volunteers, tells a friend, or simply supports what we do - more dogs and cats got to leave rescue behind and head into homes of their own.

People often only see the photos at the end.
They don’t always see the cleaning, transporting, feeding, paperwork, vet runs, fundraising, late nights, early mornings, or the volunteers trying to juggle all of it around work and life.

So genuinely… thank you.

Rescue only works because the community gets behind it - and this town continues to show up for these animals again and again 🐾💛

There’s something about dogs that makes a rough week feel a bit lighter.

Maybe it’s the ridiculous excitement over absolutely nothing.
Maybe it’s the way they act like you’ve returned from war after taking the bins out.
Maybe it’s just having something happy to come home to.

Whatever it is… we’ll have plenty of it waiting this Sunday 💛

Honestly, this time of year feels made for cats.

Cat Adoption Day is back this Saturday and we’ll have plenty of beautiful cats and kittens hoping this is finally their weekend to head home 💛

Some are confident little smoochers.
Some are more the “sit nearby and silently judge you” type.
Either way, there’s usually a cat for everyone 😂

🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK - SONNY & LUNA 🐾

Some dogs are loud, chaotic, and bouncing off the walls.

And then there’s Sonny and Luna 😅

These two are more the quiet, observant type - happy to stroll along beside you, take everything in, and keep each other company while they do it. They’re a bonded pair and genuinely seem happiest together, so we’d love to see them find a home where they can stay side by side.

They walk well on lead, sit nicely, and are very easy to have around. No dramatic main-character energy here 😂 just two curious little dachshunds who like being included and knowing what’s going on.

Sonny and Luna would suit a calmer home and are not suited to homes with kids or other dogs.

We know bonded pairs can sometimes be overlooked, but there’s something pretty special about adopting two dogs who already have each other figured out 💛

After a little break last weekend, Dog Adoption Day is back tomorrow - and Bronx will be there ready to win people over in person 😄

If you’ve been following his posts, this is your chance to actually come and meet him properly.

🐾 DOG OF THE WEEK — BRONX 🐾

Bronx is still waiting… and somehow this big lovable boy still hasn’t been snapped up 😅

Bronx is a strong, solid boy with a lot of personality. He loves people, enjoys getting out for walks, and absolutely thrives on attention and interaction.

He knows his basics, walks well on lead, and loves being involved in whatever’s going on.

Bronx does need an experienced owner and is best suited as an only dog. He can be reactive around other dogs, particularly males, so he’ll do best in a calm home where he doesn’t need to share space or attention.

Underneath all the muscle and excitement though, there’s just a dog who really wants connection, structure, and someone to call his own 💛
