Anyone want to adopt this sweet little Persian girl? I took her as a rescue from someone else who had rescued her from a home that had been neglecting her and I hoped she would fit in either my lot but they don’t seem to like her so she can’t stay unfortunately. Not sure if her age but she is apparently fully vaccinated . I cleaned her up a bit when I brought her home as she was not in the best condition. She is a very chilled out cat and doesn’t seem to be scared of much . She apparently got on well with the other people’s dogs which were small dogs. She has only met my dogs through the flyscreen door but I have big dogs but she didn’t seem too fussed about them.

A little bit of deviation from my usual work today. So made the day a little more exciting 😆
In between washing dogs I got called out to a high rise apartment building in Carlton just opposite the Queen Vic market to catch and remove this slippery fella (a red bellied black snake). He had gotten inside a lift shaft on Friday when the guy seen in the security camera footage almost stood on him but it wasn’t reported to the building manager until today (Tuesday) so the snake had 4 days to make his way up 7 floors inside the lift shaft on some chain mesh wire separating the two halves of the lift shaft. Unfortunately the capture was not filmed as I needed both hands as it was quite a tight situation with very little room to move and I had to get it off the wire and into the box which was positioned between my legs on the roof of the lift car. The lift technician who accompanied me riding on top of the lift car was too scared to even get his phone out. Luckily the snake showed me no signs of aggression and I was able to remove it safely and release it in bushland. So just goes to show even in the concrete jungle there still could be snakes. I presume it may have been stowed away in a box of produce from the Vic market as it was just across the road.
So yes apart from grooming dogs and cats I am also a licensed snake catcher if anyone ever needs one.
