The Old Titania, less than 3mths off 17, is showin' it, this yr, while it's not drought enough for her to wanna part with her babe!
Now that she's been brought into the home pad, for treatment that she's never yet had, it's suddenly drought enough, to break into the back yard!
"I pick you, Kikuyu".

An incrediBullsh*t feat! Almost unprecedented, this way. :(((

7 Docile, Registered/RegisteraBull Poll Hereford females, available (save, last cow pictured -although she is still pure -you could include her, additionally).

Mixed ages, all preg-tested, mid March, to calve from the 4th to 190925.

Easy doing (most of these pics are very recent, where dams are yet to have calves weaned, as shown in 2nd last pic).

The 1st female pictured, has a bull calf, Feb-born, at foot (only one, already calved, obviously). He is still in tact.

3rd Cow pictured, can be petted in the paddock, while they are all quiet and easy to handle. I've resisted selling her to the fat-market, because she is gorgeous, a good doer, sound, and in calf to a great Sire. She is 9yo, where the youngest females, offered here, are 1st calvers. Pls note, I'd expect a 9yo, of this form, to have some calves, yet, -we have a 16yo pet, and a handfull that are upwards from 10. These females, offered, have had some great calves/replacements, and are excellent mothers.

Near all these girls are, and will be worth, good money, just as 'fat cattle', and we've paid up to 10k for their Dams. I'm just terriBull at culling sweet cows! They'll serve someone, well.

Any reinstatement of registrations, would be at purchaser's cost.

Up-to-date with 5in1 Vaccinations (very recently).

PIC/NLIS; 3CEZY445

Reliable cartage, easily arranged.

Additional details 'n pics, at hand, just ask.

Would prefer to sell as a group -get in before prices skyrocket!

Just to reiterate;

1x Stud female, with Feb. bull CAF, not rejoined.

6x Stud Cows/heifers to calve in Sept. to various, Registered Sires.

1x non-Registerable/pure Polley, to calve Sept. (additonal purchase/last image).

We are at Princetown, Vic, 3237.

Mssgs are preferred, over calls.

Thank you :).

📸FLASHBACK 2023
“We like the Herefords as they do finish with a good fat cover and we tend to get them out a bit earlier so the cattle we are sourcing today are not so much those leggy types but good, long steers with shape to fit the Coles GRAZE program for late winter onwards,” he said.

“If you want to buy good Herefords you need to go either to the Western District or the High Country for those good runs of Herefords you can put your teeth into.”

-Phil Gledhill, Elders Holbrook

Will Cotterill, left, Mountain Creek, targets the Mountain Calf Sales to source suitable autumn drop weaners to grow out for the Coles GRAZE program.

He likes the breed’s average daily gain off grass, adequate fat cover and carcase traits.

Mr Cotterill sources steers weighing 350-370kg liveweight to finish on improved pastures at 18 to 20 months of age.

This occasion marks 5 years, of onna the biggest MOOves we'll ever make/mAche!

Great thanks to Lucy McEachern, for our longtime love 'n cattle connection -it's been a very special (and altogether challenging) chapter/s, with few dull moments (MOOments, too), yet before us! We are rooting for your every further success, Luc! ♡♡

*Pictured are some 'Spring-Spring Run' beauties, only two days after we brought our collective herds off the big trucks, 'n through the bush, following from the Great Ocean Road.

The new neighbours gave permission (plus sideways glances), knowing that these, mostly once-before sighted beasts, if they were their own 'blacks' -would have little chance of being adequately herded, the few kms onto our Forever FARm, but alas, the Southern-OtWAYians were WAY dumfounded, when the Hereford's signature temperaments kicked in ('n not much udder kicking nor fussing occured), and all but one came along 'n through the cut fence, as though we'd done it, plenty times before! It was TOO EASY!! ♡♡

We managed, Ryan Spykers and I, plus my brUdder 'n 1 ute (as far as the ute could go -then solemn footwork was in order!). Oh, the things we have MANaged, without recources/reSOREces, much, but for ALL the blind belief, grit 'n workaBull Cows!!!

We've made further inroads, with our breeding, in this time, and will be eager to share over the next couple of years and beyond. The McEachern bloodlines, have had no insignificant influence, being a pArt of our story, journey, since the 1960's.

Did I mention, that the name 'River Recede' was settled on, years before any of our own land, let alone w. river-frontage, had been settled -it's serendipity of the most satisfying degree, if you'll believe it..check out the 'River Recede' in the background of this vid -that's 70+ acres of backwater, that fluctuates throughout the year, here.

The River does rise and recede, while our Love does not, not for the land, nor for the cattle!

What udder breed, could be managed, on tiny agistment blocks (7), across 50km of drought-stricken diStrict, where half of the locations, didn't even have yards? Withtout any dog, bike, TRACTOR? We saved THOUSANDS upon thousands of dollars, upon the (fat) backs of these docile red 'n whites, and the $$ in this land, continues to grow. I've been at it, for decades, without any injury nor close-call, 'n if that's not money, an all-round approach that makes the biggest SENSE (let alone cents/kg), then we're the silly sausages, indeed!

Speaking of sense/$, well I've not had to invest in any Psychologist, over the years, and pArtly, perhaps, that the cows have always been welcoming and comforting, where I can enjoy them, pet many of them, in the paddock (MOOditation), as in the yards, and at calving time, there would be 5% of our herd, perhaps, that you have to give special space to, allowing for some bubbling Mummy-sensitivity, which is fair enough 'n very doaBull! These are not show-cattle. These are not pampered w. feed. These ARE timeless quality! Herefords!

Herefords -Herefords -Herefords!!! ♡♡♡

Ok, Imout!

The rise of River Recede

While market demands that we focus on increasing inter-carcass & cuisine qualities, coupled with a lift in our White Face's muscularity, ie.-'butt shape', it remains to be re-emphasised across industry, the single most underpinning come pinnacle Hereford trait (in our observation & opinion), and that is conversely found right at the beginning of every beast -with the neck, in neck extension! Sure, we all like to see our Bos Ta**us beauties, built boastfully so as to be able to bend it like Beckham (this constitution in compliments to the many other traits & tricks the ideal bull is built to perform), but what I am really getting at, is the winning neck extension of most every Hereford/Polled breeder himself, that we have come across, every farmer, who stands before his product, and remains standing after the product is trucked away (sometimes plucked away during the worst of droughts, environmental or commercial), and who steps in, steps up, reaches out, really extends himself, puts his neck on the line even, perhaps when his neighbour, who might even be trying to make a living with an opposing breed or species, is desperately in need. Such is the great generosity, guidance & encouragement we have encountered at every point from the wonderfully welcoming Hereford community. This is what makes our breed the greatest!! Thankyou & it will delight us to share in these stories more specifically soon, so we welcome you to watch this space (we will update with pics & stories in the Album; Neck Extension)! :D For us, Herefords/Pollies present synonymously with carcass and performance as with neck extension/ 'pay it forward', mateship, 'Australian'. The river rises, then recedes, then progresses in paying it forward again, sometimes branching out in an altogether new neck. RIVER RECEDE HEREFORDS -Here for Progressive Australian Green Beef.
