Management and training are different, if you cannot control a situation you can manage it, move the dog or cat or what ever it is into a safe area be it another room, enclosure or the back yard.

The Wolf Within by Professor Bryan Sykes a demanding and in depth read about the origins of your dog, this book goes deep. Was talking to a trainer the other day he said there is 70 percent wolf in my border collie.

Recall not working, talking to someone on the weekend who said it takes sometimes 2 hours to catch the dog, recall is not working, I said go back to the start which means the backyard with a long lead and treats, then onto the driveway and out onto the street getting each part proofed up with distractions etc. that person said that sounds like a lot of work and repetitions, I said it is, its dog training.

Don't ask a dog to do something you don't think it can do, train up to it.
