Its that time of year again when snakes are out and about, and it has been my experience that some dogs find snakes very easily and some dogs do go in to investigate or attack and the results can be disastrous, as a snake catcher I have been to properties and a member of the family has taken a dog to the vet for snake bite. So if you do find a snake in your yard or the dog or cat does, remove them from the area to a place where they are safe, and ring a snake catcher.
There are a few people who do train snake aversion for dogs, do a search in your local area.

Management and training are different, if you cannot control a situation you can manage it, move the dog or cat or what ever it is into a safe area be it another room, enclosure or the back yard.
