Where to start..
First off I wish to apologise for my absence of posts the last nearly 12 months, the seasons have not been kind to us and Facebook and other social media has been placed on the back burner to keep priorities in line.
Secondly, I would like to let everyone know that there is potential that I will not be having another litter of kelpies for quite some time, possibly years.
Today marks 1 month exactly since I lost my beloved Collie Dog, Collie was a pup from my last joining in July of Fly and Tank. He was unfortunately born with a few issues due to a significant lack of space and some oxygen deprivation during the emergency c section.
Nick named The Collie Dog due to the excessive amount of white on him, I formed a strong attachment that I never thought I would find in another dog after losing my founding sire Futura Mate in 2020.
Collie was an amazing dog who will always hold my heart but we suspected he would not make old age.
On top of this devastatingly on Monday, 4 weeks to the day after losing Collie we also lost his sister Cat, she was involved in an accident on farm while at work. Cat was shaping up to be an exceptional paddock dog, she had a great break out and perfect amount of eye, with the type of brain you could trust to react correctly and calmly without needing to be told.
Cat was the future breeder of my stud and her loss has been felt in more ways than one.
I made an extremely hard choice to drastically down size my team during this drought, as the dogs had no work and it was not fair on them, I found them all amazing places to live and work and I love where they all ended up.
However it had left me with only 3 viable breeding dogs to carry on my genetics which at the time was fine, but losing Cat is a huge blow, I am currently staring down the barrel of the fact I may lose what I have spent the last 9 years building genetically.
I haven’t given up completely just yet I have one Hail Mary left in the bank however I do not know when or if I will have pups available again.
