⚠️ Parvovirus Alert ⚠️

We have received reports of canine parvovirus cases in our region and want to remind all dog owners to ensure their pets’ vaccinations are up to date 💉

Parvovirus is a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening disease that primarily affects unvaccinated dogs and puppies. The virus attacks the gastrointestinal tract and immune system, and without prompt veterinary treatment can become fatal.

Signs of parvovirus may include:
• Vomiting
• Severe diarrhoea
• Loss of appetite
• Lethargy
• Dehydration

Parvovirus can survive in the environment for extended periods and spreads easily between dogs, making prevention especially important.

The good news is that parvovirus is preventable through routine vaccination.

If your dog is overdue for vaccinations or you’re unsure of their vaccination status, please contact your veterinarian as soon as possible.
