Winter now has a foster carer!!
URGENT FOSTER CARER NEEDED – DEAR FRIENDS, MY NAME IS WINTER...
Dear Friends,
My name is Winter, and this is my story.
I'm a Staffy cross, and while my story is a little sad, I'm hoping it has a happy ending.
Last week, the team from Scruffer Lovers came to visit after they received a call that my very best friend, Summer, had gone into labour and needed help. A few of the team arrived, and before long Summer welcomed 10 beautiful puppies into the world.
Life hasn't always been easy for us. We have been living in a laundry with access to outside. My humans have done what they could, but things have been difficult, and it became clear that Summer and her babies needed a quieter, safer place where she could be supported and cared for properly. So they packed her up and took her to foster care.
Before they left, they made me a promise.
"We'll be back for you, Winter."
Now it's my turn.
I really need to come into care as soon as possible. Since Summer left, everything feels very different, and I miss my best friend terribly. The wonderful people at Scruffer Lovers are hoping that once Summer has finished raising her puppies, she and I can be reunited again. Until then, I just need somewhere safe where I can wait for that day.
I'm a friendly boy, but I may need a little time to adjust. What I need most is a patient, understanding foster carer who is home for much of the day while I find my feet and learn that the world can be a safe place.
At this stage, I would be best as the only dog in the home while everyone gets to know me better. I would also be best suited to a home with older children who understand and respect dogs' boundaries. Cats are unknown.
More than anything, I'm simply looking for what every dog deserves... kindness, security, love, and someone who will make me feel like I belong.

And who knows... maybe once Summer has finished raising her beautiful puppies, my best friend and I will get to be together again. That's the ending I'm hoping for.
