The REAL Gatton Heavy Horse Field Days - Clydesdale & Heavy Horse Field Day Held every year in Gatton, Qld. If you have any enquiries: [email protected] After two years at Marburg, the Field Days were then re-located to Ladley.

The first of the annual Clydesdale & Heavy Horse Field Days was in 1978 on a property in Coolana in south east Qld. Gatton has been their home since 1992. While the Field Days is an important event for breeders, the weekend is mainly dedicated to the working of these magnificent animals making it the perfect 'show-piece' for the general public. Long regarded as the largest and most pretigious heav

y horse event in Australia, spectators can see some of the best in all areas of competition - from the plough ring to the beautifully restored horse-drawn vehicles or the skill of manoeuvring a log through a tight obstacle course. Outside the main arena is a continuous programme of displays and demonstrations. The farriers sweat it out in a hot-shoeing competition, learn more about the individual breeds or watch the marvellous sight of a Clydesdale doing dressage - and that's just for starters! And in between all this, browse the stalls and find something special to take away with you or settle down in the grand stand with a coffee & a burger (or anything else from the extensive range of food & beverages on offer) and watch these wonderful horses do what they do best.
