After many years of breeding both of these colours in the standard Sussex the time has come to disperse both flocks.

🌟 Tyrandarra Show 2026 🌟

We had a lovely day albeit a little sad for me. No Orpingtons were taken for obvious reasons so sadly I actually had nothing to exhibit.
We were limited on how many we could take anyway as I also wanted to show my old Holden.. so off we went in the old Holden with 3 chooks in the back seat.. 🚗 🫣😂😂😂😂
We decided that Ella would show in the open section rather than the juniors and I am really impressed that she did as the competition is always tough!
She won Champion Heavy Male and runner-up large bird in Show with her Rhode Island Red C**k bird.
She also won Champion Bantam Soft feather with a black Belgium d’Uccle cockeral. His first show too so she was really pleased.
I managed to win Best Holden so I was lucky enough to come home with a ribbon too… 😂
Time for us to start going through youngsters and select next season’s show birds and also start preparing for moulting season and colder weather.
We have plenty of young stock for sale if anyone is interested, just send us a PM 🙏

My beautiful Orpingtons 😭
Absolutely gutted to have lost both of these birds (plus so many other beautiful birds) in extreme 40 plus degree heat.
At this point I am unsure as to whether we will continue as we will have to practically start again. I post this as we begin another run of hot days so hopefully we don’t lose more birds.. 🤞 There is simply only so much you can do.. 🤷‍♀️ We have lovely big shade trees, run sprinklers constantly, shade cloth etc… 😑 What is left I currently have inside..🫣

Sadly we had to say goodbye to our beautiful little Apple Blossom a few days ago. She was becoming old and really struggled with the recent hot days . Quite a few tears were shed as Ella has shown beautiful Blossom for quite a few years and we had all definitely formed an attachment to this lovely little bird.. 🥺 She always had something to say about absolutely everything and was very vocal. I, for one, will certainly miss her in our show team next year.. 😩 RIP little Blossom ###

🏆 Noorat Show 2025 🏆

What an absolutely amazing show we had to finish our season.
So proud of our little team as there were some quality birds in attendance and competition was tough!!!
I was so incredibly proud to be awarded Champion Standard Soft-feather then went on to win Bird in Show with a lovely homebred standard black Orpington female.

I was equally proud of my daughter, Ella, who won both Junior Standard Soft-feather, then went on to win Best Junior Bird in Show with her homebred standard Rhode Island Red male and also Reserve Champion Junior Bird in Show with a homebred Bantam
modern Game Female.
Ella was also awarded Reserve Champion Junior Bantam Soft feather with a mille fluer Belgian d’Uccle female and Reserve Champion and Reserve Champion Bantam Hard feather with a Bantam Modern Game female.

We are a little relieved that our shows are now done and dusted as keeping birds in show condition this time of year is a lot of work!

Pretty happy that I also won Best Holden in the Show & Shine competition with my old Hk Prem 🙌🎉🤩

💫 Colac Agi Show 2025 💫

Wowzers! What a wonderful show this was for both Ella and myself!!! We still can’t quite believe it to be honest!

For the first time ever we both took out the title of Best in Show.. Ella as the junior and myself as the senior. A very memorable moment and one neither of us will forget.. ❤️
Showing has now become a really special time as my daughter and I spend quality time together gallivanting around the country side with our chooks in tow.. 🥰 So many lovely people in the chook world and we love catching up with all the familiar faces at different places .. 🙌 One show to go then we will focus on breeding with our show team.. 🐣 🥰

⭐️ Warrnambool Agi Show 2025 ⭐️

We had an amazing show with Ella winning Champion Soft-feather then went on to win Junior Bird in Show with one of our homebred standard Rhode Island Red cockerels. She also won Reserve Junior Soft-feather with a standard Rhode Island Red pullet.

Extremely happy to have won Champion Standard Soft-feather with a black Orpington pullet.

We are so proud to of been very consistent with both of these breeds over the last few shows which tells us we are on the right track with our breeding programs.. 🙌✅

Camperdown Agi Show 2025

We had an amazing show with the following results… 🤩

Great weather as the rain held off until the afternoon and the sun managed to come out a few times… ☀️ Massive week leading into this show trying to prep 17 birds, doing a few every night after work.. 😵 My bed is looking great about now!!! 🙌😂😂😂

Just blow drying chooks in the kitchen while I am cooking dinner tonight … 🙌🤪 There is a strong possibility I am simply crazy.. ? 🤔 🤭
Starting to do preliminary washes on our next show team as finally some of our late hatchers have developed enough to show..a little late but better now than never.. 🤩
