🌟 Appreciation Post 🌟
There are some extremely generous people in the poultry world and I would like to acknowledge one here ✅
Ella and I recently attended the 2026 National Rhode Island Annual Show on Saturday 4th July where Ella won both Champion and Reserve Champion Junior Bird In Show with her homebred birds.🏆
Ella has had some bad luck one way and another with her RIR so she has been left with a limited breeding group for this upcoming season so she was on the hunt for a pullet or 2 to add to her small flock.
We met quite a few new breeders while at this show, one in particular was Lachlan Berriman, a longtime breeder of Rhode Island Reds and whose birds we had been admiring for years. While discussing with Lachlan the possibility that he might have something available for a junior exhibitor, he, without hesitation, immediately offered Ella one of his lovely pullets he was showing on the day!!! What an amazing and extremely generous offer that Ella was so excited to receive! 🙌
Ella has since showed this pullet 3 times for 1 x Champion Junior and 2 x Reserve Champion Junior so we know for sure that Ella is adding an exceptional bird to her flock ✅ The only request Lachlan had was that we named her Nicole which we have.. 🤣
Lachlan, you are amazing and we are so grateful for Nicole! Ella can’t wait to see what Nicole produces this breeding season.. 🐣 🐣 🐣
