Happy Halloween from the team at Greencross Carrara 👻🧡

As you enjoy your spooky treats tonight, remember chocolate and lollies might be sweet for us, but they’re toxic to dogs and cats! 🍫🚫

Keep all candy safely out of paws’ reach and if your pet sneaks a treat they shouldn’t, give us a call right away! ☎️🐶🐱

Sweet boy Buddy knows all about the benefits of vaccines!

Vaccinations are a simple way to keep your dog safe from serious (and preventable!) diseases like parvo, distemper and kennel cough. Regular boosters help them live their happiest, healthiest life - and protect the whole dog community too! 💚

📅 Ask us when your pet is due for their next vaccine.

💛 Join Tom in honouring Sophie's Legacy 💛
Tom is taking steps—literally—to support , walking over 40km in under 10 hours from Greencross Vet clinic to clinic. As the partner of one of our incredible Greencross Vets, Tom understands the depth of commitment & heart it takes his fiancé Holly to do her job and makes sure she is always supported.
Sophie’s Legacy raises awareness and advocates for better support systems to protect those who care for our animals. Tom is raising money for Sophie's Legacy to bring about change in the vet industry, as despite the long hours and challenging days, he knows that Holly is doing what she loves and he can't see her doing anything else.
The Petbarn Foundation will double all donations made to Tom's Walk. You can donate via the link in our bio. Every step we take helps create a better future for our vets.
If you or someone you know is in need, please reach out to Lifeline (13 11 14) or Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636) for support. Or to learn more about this incredible charity, head to sophieslegacy.com.au.

The NSW Government will release the RHDV1-K5 rabbit calicivirus in early March 2025 to control wild rabbit populations. This poses a serious risk to pet rabbits across Greater Sydney and the Central Coast.

Rabbit calicivirus is often fatal, so prevention is key. Greencross Vets at Five Dock has vaccines available and we are offering them for $99 each for the month of February.
Call us today to make an appointment or book online!

Introducing Minnie 🥰

Minnie is a beautiful One year old female. She has been in our care for some time being nursed back to health after being rescued from a hoarding situation. Minnie has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea treated & wormed. Minnie had severe cat flu & we believe she may always sound a little 'snuffly' when she breathes.

Minnie loves pats, loves her food and loves 'making biscuits' with her paws. She is easy to pickup & loves to snuggle into your neck. She has won the hearts of our entire team!

Minnie is available for adoption at Greencross Vets Five Dock. If you are unable to adopt Minnie but could offer her a loving foster home we would also love to hear from you! Please reach out on 02 8753 1300 if you would like to meet Minnie.

🚨 Attention Rabbit Owners! 🚨

A wild rabbit control program is scheduled for Greater Western Sydney and the Central Coast in early March 2025, releasing the rabbit calicivirus strain K5. This virus is highly contagious and often fatal for rabbits.

🐰 Protect Your Rabbit! 🐰
✔️ Vaccinate your rabbit before the release.
✔️ Keep rabbits indoors to reduce exposure.
✔️ Prevent contact with wild rabbits.
✔️ Use fly screens—flies and mosquitoes can spread the virus.
✔️ Wash hands & disinfect items before handling your rabbit.

Signs of Rabbit Calicivirus (RHDV):

❌ Lethargy & loss of appetite
❌ Fever & breathing issues
❌ Bleeding (nose, mouth)
❌ Seizures or sudden death

🚑 If your rabbit shows symptoms, contact your vet immediately!

Spread awareness to fellow rabbit owners! 🐇💙
