Adelle Stock Horse Stud Here at Adelle Stud we aim to consistently breed and show Australian Stock Horses of the highest qual We generally have 3-4 foals a year . (Taronga stud ).

Adelle Stud is situated in the picturesque hunter valley,NSW

The Stud is owned and operated by Michelle and Adam Wilton along with their daughter Mia. Our original property established in 2008 was only small consisting of 8 acres ,we also leased approx 50 acres on the adjoining property where we ran our mares foals and spelling horses. However we have since sold and moved onto a much bigger parc

el of land comprising of 180 acres , just out side of Vacy NSW. Adelle Stud breed show and camp draft Australian Stock Horses. While we breed our own line of horses being under the Adelle prefix , originally we were in partnership with John and Marion Cowley of Quirindii,located in the upper Hunter Valley. We were first introduced to John and Marion , when we mentioned that we were keen to start our own stock horse stud , they were an elderly couple who in their day had a great deal of success with their line of horses, with Johns father Ernie Cowley having bred the foundation sire Bobby Bruce. Sadly both John and Marion have passed now but we still proudly carry some on the Bruce blood in our mares . Our young horses are all weaned at approximately 6 months of age and are then handled spelled and bought back in to be prepared to be shown as yearlings in the spring.They are then spelled again , to allow them to grow and bought back in to be broken at around 2 yrs of age here at Adelle stud. While Adam and Michelle both ride competitively, Adam does the most part of the breaking with Michelle excelling in the show ring and their daughter Mia always helping out .

Always a huge atmosphere for the stockhorses shoved up in the back corner next to the rides and the show jumpers , I had to share this quick video of Adam and the 2yr old superstar Barbie pony taking it all in her stride like a pro today !

We managed to stay fairly dry considering the weather wasn’t great !

Then back we went on sat with Mia competing in showgirl , the entertainment was fantastic and many laughs had with friends .
