Forster Tuncurry Boarding Kennels and Cattery has been in operation for over 30 years and has been refurbished and extended a number of times over this period. The besser kennels are all under cover with secure, steel mesh, gated fencing. 'A' Block and adjoining exercise yards are dedicated to small dogs. There are internal and external exercise yards that range from fully grassed to partly grasse

d with sandy areas for digging to full concrete. The air-conditioned cattery is rather exclusive with only 6 single units and 1 family unit. Ground level contains a mat for sleeping and toys; First level houses the covered litter tray; Second level is the eating area with a resting bed; Top level is the sleeping compartment with covered area for those who like their privacy. Note: Those holidaying in the area have the option to take their pet out for the day.

Hot weather 🥵
We often get asked what we do to keep all our guests cool on these hot summer days, so thought we would share some of what we do:
Dogs:
🌞 No dogs are exercised during the heat of the day
🌞 Swims in the in ground pool are on offer
🌞 Swims in the splash pool are available multiple times throughout the day
🌞 All kennels have a misting system installed so nice cool water is constantly sprayed in a fine mist
🌞 Fans are installed in all kennel areas
🌞 Frozen ice and icy treats are on offer
🌞 Staff are in attendance at all times to constantly monitor all our guests.
Cats:
🌞 Our cattery is fitted out with an air conditioning unit to ensure a constant mild temperature is maintained at all times.

We are happy to report that during all this hot weather all our guests have been kept happy and healthy.

Fire update 🔥 🚒

We can breathe again. The rfs has just advised the fire is now officially contained and the smoke is starting to clear and we can finally see blue sky. There may be some smoke from time to time as it burns within containment lines.

Again we give a massive thank you to Wingham pet motel and pacific pet resort for being there for help if needed, and our local vets for jumping into action to care for our pets if we had to evacuate.

Fire update 🔥 🚒

At this stage the fire is still on the move. We are monitoring conditions very closely.
We are keeping our gates open today, if you are wanting to pick up your pet please let us know so as we can have them ready.

Fire update 🔥 🚒

The fire has moved away from the direction of the kennels with the change in wind. We have helicopters and planes in our area water bombing the fire to help get it under control. The fire is still a significant distance away from the kennels.

We currently have blue skies and fresh air over the kennels. As per our last post, we have our evacuation plans ready to enact if needed.

We are so grateful for all the offers of help, it has been amazing. We are keeping all plans on standby in case things change.

Fire update 🚒 🔥

There is currently a fire in the Failford area. At this point we are safe. We have all staff on deck and our evacuation plan in place should we need it.

If anything changes, we will put a post on our face book page. Please note, if we do have to evacuate, we will not have time to answer phones and will update Facebook when safe as our only priority is the safety of the pets and our team members.

When coming to our place over the coming days, there will be multiple fire trucks in our area, please be mindful of this.
