Very happy 12th birthday to our Toby. 🎉
It seems only yesterday that you came into our lives. 🥰
Your eyes may not be as good as they were although your nose has lost none of its sensitivity so you still try chasing small animals. Hopefully the moustache you now sport helps you feel your way around in the dark when the eyes fail. We are very lucky to have you after the tiger snake bite which caused permanent damage to your teeth and some throat paralysis. We do feel we still have a bit of Callie in you too as she provided blood to aid your recovery. Your doctor also tells us you have developed a heart murmur so we do need to stop you from getting overly excited (yes no more chasing those small animals!) While you can no longer chew bones you still enjoy the odd treat or two and have no problem telling us when there is something in your food bowl you don’t want. Yes you pick it up and spit it out all over the floor, which you have done ever since you were a puppy. Fortunately we now have a few others that operate under the “waste not want not” premise and are happy to clean up after you.

The long and shaggy or the short and sleek. Poodles can handle pretty much any clip you want or like. No need to keep them in a “show” continental clip if you lead an active lifestyle. The shorter clips are easier to maintain and if you are in an area with ticks, they are much easier to spot. Our mob have 80 acres so we find the shorter clips much better, although may I add that while they have all this space they would much prefer to be running circles around us. 🤣

Well it has come that time in our lives and we have decided to sell and downsize. We love this home. We love the spectacular views and the privacy it has given us. It will be very sad to leave but hope to find someone who loves it as much as we have. ❤️

Well Christmas is nearly upon us and the goats got their present early. I arrived home today with fresh seasonal hay courtesy of Exeter Farm & Feed. The girls and their bubs didnt want to let me through the gate, so I had to break open a bale to keep them occupied.

Bella, I know you consider yourself a lapdog, but this does not pass the health and safety risk assessment.

There is a bitter southerly blowing today but Dad still got his chainsaw out and the girls and their bubs came running. We can’t let them out in the scrub all the time as it is not suitably fenced but under supervision they can enjoy the foraging. The boys (and the 3 ancient sheep) didn’t miss out either. Given that I only have half a bale of lucerne and half a bale of hay left then this is our regular Sunday activity. Can not believe in a few years we have gone from having no goats to having 18. 🤔

No puppies but we have had 7 Nigerian Dwarf babies born in the last 7 days.
Meet twins Al and Archie (Almond and Pistachio), Mack and Hazel (Macadamia and Hazelnut) and then the triplets Wally, Coco and Cash (Walnut, Coconut and Cashew). Yes definitely a nut theme. Their dad we nicknamed Chestnut and all of these are his children!
