The Melbourne Royal Show is on in just a few weeks.

Last year we entered Freya whom won “best baby puppy in breed” for Westies. This year we will be attending again, but with her half sister Dungavin Hey There Georgy Girl aka “Gigi”.

We (Gigi and I) have lots to do between now and then to become show ready, unfortunately her outings are currently cancelled until further notice, as she is “in season” along with Freya so we are confined to barracks, but we can still achieve lots during this time.

For those interested in seeing the Westies at the show they will be shown on Wednesday the 30th September.

If you are attending the show on any day please go and check out the dogs being shown. There is so much effort that goes into presenting the dogs. Most exhibitors are happy to chat once their dogs have been shown. Prior to this the focus is on getting the dog/s ready and for some breeds this takes considerable effort.

Dungavin Westies Australia will be attending the Geelong Highland Games and Celtic Festival on the 24th of October.

If it is anything like the Melbourne Highland Games & Celtic Festival it will be a great event and we can’t wait to be there with our westie family.

Dungavin Westies Calendar for 2027

We are now taking pre-orders for our Dungavin Westies Calendar 2027. The cost of the calendar will be $30 including postage within Australia, with $5 from each calendar going to the Epilepsy Foundation of Australia .

The Epilepsy Foundation was chosen as this years recipient as it is something that we are passionate about. I am not sure if many of you are aware; but, Andrew was diagnosed with Epilepsy at the age of 19. Fortunately for Andrew, his epilepsy is well controlled and has been seizure free for nearly 20 years.

We need to have a minimum of 30 preorders before I can order the calendars.
