Georgia's Natural Juice
We know many of you care deeply about buying Australian - and so do we. Wherever possible, we prioritise local growers and producers. But every now and then, something comes along that’s worth a closer look - or presents an opportunity to reduce waste, like saving near or past best-before stock from landfill.
This week we’re introducing a range of Natural Organic juices from Georgia.
To make 1L of true “not from concentrate” juice (like blueberry), you need roughly a full tray of fruit. Taking blueberries as an example, the cheapest we’ve seen is around $17 just for the berries, which would push a local version to $25+ per litre.
This Georgia Natural Organic range comes in at around $11 per litre, even after being produced overseas and shipped here.
These juices are 100% pure, cold-pressed, certified organic, with nothing added - no water, sugar, preservatives or concentrates. Just the fruit, pressed. That’s quite different to many juices on the market, which are often reconstituted from concentrate.
In many cases, what’s sold locally as “juice” is actually reconstituted from concentrate - meaning water is removed, shipped, then added back in later. Even products labelled as containing “Australian ingredients” can largely reflect the water used during reconstitution, rather than the origin of the fruit itself.
For example, products like Ocean Spray cranberry juice are made from fruit grown in the US and Canada, processed into concentrate overseas, then imported, diluted with water and packaged locally - often labelled as “Made in Australia with imported ingredients”.
So while the final product may be processed here, much of what’s counted as “Australian” can be the water used during reconstitution, rather than the origin of the fruit itself.
We’re offering these as a pure juice option at a price that makes sense, with added functional benefits depending on the variety - from antioxidant-rich pomegranate and blueberry, to beetroot for performance, cranberry for urinary health, and prune for digestion.
At Box Divvy, we’re not rigid - we’re practical and transparent. Most of what we offer is local and seasonal, but when something stacks up on both quality and value, we think it’s worth sharing.
