Varroa mite is our biggest threat to our beekeeping industry at the moment with it advancing quickly. I attended a varroa information day to learn more about how we are going to manage our hives to ensure the bee’s survival.

I’ll admit Varroa is daunting as costs and extra work and time to keep our bees alive and healthy is going to hit beekeepers hard.

Queen bees are often posted, they must be clearly labeled as live bees, no sun, no spray in approved packaging. These new queens will strengthen hives ready for winter.
