Welcoming in the false spring with a little kokodama. A beautiful table peice, and pick me up that will continue to grow even once the arrangement is done. Once the flowers are gone, you can plant directly into the garden, and it will come up year after year. I had fun making these with Holly, plenty more to come. Let me know if you would like one.

I have never seen so many bees visiting one flower. Must be hungry. Happy to have something to feed them.

If you can't see the flowers from your house you are more likely to cut them. Here's how I've got my cut flower patch. Give it another month, and the wall in front will be doing it's job!
ATM I have poppies - maybe 3 a day and a ridiculously small group of stock, 1 stem a week! And the perennials dotted around the rest of the garden.

There are not a lot of flowers in the garden... However the Daphne is beautiful. Holly and I made a button hole with the shorter stems, adding some dried flora to make it interesting. Then we made an ice-cream bowl arrangement using chicken wire the flowers are Anemone, rosemary, vinca, poppies and dusty miller. We also planted some Fama white and Rudbeckia Sahara seeds.

Now the dahlias are out, I am flipping the beds. Spring flowers under both of these mesh tunnels. Why metal mesh? In the second photo you will see Marly, 5 minutes before taking this photo, I didn't have the mesh tunnels up and she was leisurely walking along eating the Seamungus pellets I had just put down. And of course it's a good way to stop my stems from falling over when the wind blows too hard or we get heavy rain. And it's not plastic, so it will last and last, it won't go into landfill.

Today Holly and I had fun! I showed her how to divide dahlia tubers, we planted seeds and picked a bunch of things that were pretty in the garden. This bunch has stock, Hakea, potato vine, dill, rosemary, mint and dusty miller. What's in your garden at the beginning of winter?

Even though it's almost the end of the season, I have flowers down at Net's little Tarravan. The Tarravan is open Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) 6:30-10:30. She makes beautiful coffee, and is so cheerful and lovely. A nice way to start the day.

The flowers are mostly dahlias and zinnias, with some roses, Cosmos amaranth and celosia.

New Beds in! And an archway for all the sweet peas. I have planted bulbs (daffs, ixias and grape hyacinths) under fever few, Mexican hat rudbeckia and seaside daisy, tomorrow I am soaking the ranunculus. Loving this new entry to the flower garden. What would you grow over the arch? 🤔
