If you’ve been following our reefing journey for a while, you’ve probably noticed there’s a teal stag coral in almost every one of our display tanks. Countless frags of this coral have also found their way into re**ers' tanks around the country.
This is the famous Rod the Reefer’s Stag.
Back in the old MASA forum days, Rod was a re**er from Adelaide had an incredible teal stag colony in his tank. Instead of keeping it to himself, he shared it with re**ers all over Australia, and we were lucky enough to get a piece. We’ve been growing it ever since.
A coral is often more than just a price tag or a fancy name. Sometimes it carries a story, a history, and a connection to the people who have cared for it over the years. That’s one of the things that makes this hobby so special.
And every time we look at this stag, it reminds us of the re**ers who came before us and the community that helped shape this hobby into what it is today.
