Between 8–16 weeks of age, puppies go through a critical learning and development phase. Experiences during this time play an important role in shaping long-term behaviour, confidence, and resilience.
Starting puppy school from around 8 weeks old supports:
🐕 Socialisation — learning appropriate, positive interactions with other living things
🌍 Environmental conditioning — gentle exposure to everyday sounds, surfaces, objects, and situations
🧠 Early learning of foundational skills and good habits
💛 Confidence building during this crucial developmental window
🩺 Vaccination reassurance:
Puppies do not need to be fully vaccinated to attend puppy school. The benefits of early, controlled socialisation outweigh the risks when classes are run appropriately. Puppy classes are carefully managed, with hygiene protocols in place, and puppies attend only once they have commenced their vaccination program.
Puppy school is about setting your puppy up for a lifetime of positive experiences and healthy development.
