ole picture and a thorough knowledge of anatomy and physiology in a variety of animals, I offer gentle effective methods using a range of body work modalities gained over thirty years’ experience as a trainer, rider, competitor, instructor, coach educator & assessor, groom and therapist up to Olympic level. Using these unique skills your animal is fully assessed, treated and a program created as required. Rest assured I understand your training regimes and chosen discipline if you are competing, having been there. If your aim is to rehabilitate, maintain or manage a health or conformation related issue my goals are suited to that individuals requirements. An important part of any assessment is seeing the animal move, for canines participating in certain sports I may ask to see them work and for equines additionally includes saddle fit, teeth and hoof balance and how in turn they affect the horses’ body and biomechanics. I regularly refer to the experts in these areas if necessary so that the best outcome is achieved for my clients and feel and see the positives a holistic approach achieves. Astley Equilibrium remains up to date with the latest methods and developments in the industry. Qualifications include:
BHSAI, BHSII, EA/NCAS Level 2 Coach, previously a coach educator and assessor for EA, AHRC & BHS, Certificate IV Assessment & Workplace Training and Certified Canine/Equine Acupressure & Myofunctional Therapy Practitioner. Currently studying a Bachelor of Applied Science at the University of Queensland. Available for bookings in the Newcastle, Central Coast, Hunter Valley & Mid North Coast areas.

Please, please, please plan ahead now, before the next wave of wet weather for your animals & humans!!

It's bad all ready, but far from over yet. It's utterly heartbreaking to hear of so many horses, cattle & other stock all ready lost & taken in flood waters, even those placed on higher grounds. Consider other options if you can. I know many are now 'flooded in' on various levels. These floods are beating previous highest levels & really are serious & covering a big area. Keep the hay up to those contained or in sodden now muddy paddocks.

My thoughts & biggest hugs are with those affected & particularly our neighbours on Mid North Coast that have not yet recovered from the fires. Stay safe & ideally stay home & definitely don't risk driving through flooded roads.

If anyone is stuck I have room for a few horses/cattle just DM or text me. Dx

As do bitless bridles, nosebands & something often overlooked but used almost daily & far more than all the above - headcollars! Whatever your preference make sure it fits & doesn't impact on the sensitive areas shown in these pics. 🤝

It is fantastic to see more & more alternatives & ergonomic options out there but always learn how to fit them or they can become a further problem. 👍

As with saddle fit, I also assess bridle fit as part of an initial assessment with Astley Equilibrium. It all becomes part of a bigger picture. 🤓🐴🐎☯️

What we feed our animals matters - it really matters!

Nutrition is such an essential part of the big picture, part of the whole. Essential to a wholistic approach. Considering the whole animal and it's environment.

In short if you want a truly healthy dog or cat you have to feed them right.

No judgement if you feed kibble. I have like most of us at some point in the past. Even Vets many by their own admission don't get a great deal of training in feeding. Leaving us all open to the full on marketing campaigns of so many dry feeds out there.

I encourage you to do your research, read up on pros & cons. Take a good hard look at your dog or cat. Their skin. Their eyes. Their weight. Their coat...when I did this I found alternatives & can honestly say have never looked back & won't because the difference in them all will be all you need to see. 👀💞
I can certainly still help alleviate your dogs itchy skin, or arthritis but if they have the best nutrition to support these examples from within. My how muxh more difference we will make to that animals life. 😉🤗
