It’s the time of year where we want our fur babies to have a nice long warm coat but we still need to ensure that they are comfortable.

The most important things to ensure we still do for our pets when it comes to grooming during the autumn/winter months are:

- brush them regularly to ensure no matting - under the chest, the belly, the ears, behind the ears, the neck & the tail being the most common areas for matting
- make sure they have a bath and dry at least every 8 weeks whether at home or with a groomer
- ensure that oodles and other breeds with longer/curlier hair have their paws trimmed (grass seeds between the pads can be very painful)
- maintain nails as long nails can dig into pads - dew claws can also grow into their skin and become infected
- make sure to de-shed your double coated fur baby - you will benefit as well from less vacuuming!
- make sure your pet has their hygiene areas looked after - especially curly and longer haired pets - poo can easily get stuck in their fur and cause major problems for your pup
